Please explain the legal process of fleeing violence of one country to come here? in 1998? compared to now? Then, please explain how the US government for the past three decades or so has turned a blind eye to migrants going north is not effectively #amnesty. Also, how is culpability for the migrants coming here solely the fault of the migrant and not the businesses that recruit and hire these people that come here. People were allowed to come her, settle in, and make families at the behest of the agricultural, hospitality and construction lobbies. what do you suggest as a plan for the 10 or so million of people already living here, that is ethical, efficient and humane. The plan also must not be a burden on the tax payer or the economy.

Real change will only come when we allow for more legal immigration and stop criminalizing those who come to this country seeking refuge from civil war, violence and poverty. “Abolish ICE” is a snappy slogan, but abolishing the criminalization of immigration is what we should be demanding.
