Dandelions are so lovely ^_^ And essential for happy bees. They waft in the wind, and make lawns pretty.

I have been waiting patiently for this one to be released & now it’s going to be one of those mods I use in every. single. lot. because I love dandelions so much. AND it’s great in a Dandelion and Burdock or other drinks and remedies.

Placeable Dandelion VFX

This base game compatible object makes dandelions pop up wherever you place it. It’s using one of the garden weed VFX, but they’re purely decorative, with no effect on environment scores, no impact on gardening, and no interactions available when you click on them. Twin Peaks Radio v3

I love this music isn’t it too dreamy?

This mod adds 4 new channels to in-game stereos and wall stereos, filled with Angelo Badalamenti’s unsettling backwoods noir sounds - perfect forTwin Peaks neighbourhoods, or anyone who wants that kind of mood for their Sims.

My modding has improved, so v3 comes with new features:

Drag-and-drop your songs to new custom folders - quick and easy

Compatible with the Dancing Tree; & set up for compatibility with other custom channel mods in future

Sims listening to the channels will now have strange thoughts: the sound wind makes through the pines. The sentience of animals. What we fear in the dark, and what lies beyond the darkness….

v.3 does NOT add the channels to every ingame stereo, as 2.7 did. They can only be found on the Double R Diner Jukebox (also search "Staberinde" or "Twin Peaks").

This is to enable better compatibility with other mods you have that edit game stereos, and makes it considerably easier to maintain if EA edits the stereo code in future.

It also enables me to add custom thought balloons

I can quickly add the channels to the stereos of your choice on request

Oh my, I am feeling strangely bittersweet about the new Sims EP. On the one hand, this is absolutely my thing and I’m delighted.

On the other, it’s my thing, and I’m now looking at my planned pack modlist and mentally sorrowing that my little niche is going to be Swamped & pre-empted by an actual pack.

it’s OK, right? It’ll be an opportunity, it’ll have meshes I want and I can then edit them; it’s like EA heard my call about the Windenberg bar drinks being silly. idk. I feel bittersweet, it’s a weird emotional place!

I think because modding is ultimately, an expression of creativity and inner longing - the same way making a build or styling a custom Sim is, but you’re making your builds and Sims from scratch, from code, as a way to breathe life into an entire world. So there is an intimacy to it, a sharing of something secret within the self.

Compare the design of the classic British Railways font (Gill Sans, I think; one of the most iconic fonts in classic British design):

We’re going to the British rural imaginary!

I should feel excited about this, rather than get off my lawn (or, I suppose, if we’re in the British countryside, it’s more like get off my estate this land was claimed by my ancestors at the time of the Norman Conquest and I still have exclusive rights over it 900 years later)

so I’m going to try and focus on, there’s going to be cool opportunities here somewhere and gaps I can fill in, and anyway it is just a game, and perhaps by the time it comes out I’ll be able to go travelling again and not need to recreate it in pixels and code.

Quick note to people with the Twin Peaks Radio mod:

I’m doing a compatibility fix as we speak to make it compatible with my new Dancing Tree, but tbh it’s pretty horrible code and I’m finding errors I don’t understand. So expect a proper Twin Peaks Radio update soon, & don’t download it until the update is clear.

I’m so excited to now have 50 followers here on tumblr! I’ve had this sitting around and waiting for a few more plants to make it a set, but I think it’s the perfect thing to give to you folks. 

This Assorted Wildflowers from the base game recolored to match wildflower meadows from around the world. You should be able to recognize some of these color combinations as looking “right.” Once again I’m using colors from my horticulture palette which is over 100 colors hand chosen from the Royal Horticultural Society’s color classification system. Their system has thousands of colors notated in hexadecimals.

New Mod Coming Soon!

Goodness me, I think my big mod project is basically done

(i.e. I went down my “things left to do” list and crossed them off by deciding I couldn’t be arsed with them, or they were above my current skill level)

I’m just proofreading the code, I need to do the tedious screenshots stage, and I need to stay firm on not adding a new tree mesh or re-painting the hawthorn with flowers; I might do that for an update, but for now I really need this project to be DONE it is READY I am FED UP WITH IT and it is time to share

To match the release of my Eerie Pub Signs, I wanted to boost some matching mods to download.

Buying fruity cocktails and fine wines from the bar is absurd. Until I have time to make my own overhaul, here’s drinks mods to make the bar feel more like a bar.

I was tickled pink by the little pubs of Windenberg, choked with fog and age. I’ve not left the house in over a year, and I am desperate to drive out on a sunny Sunday afternoon for a pub lunch. Oh for a ploughman’s, bees in the pub garden, and a lazy day which lasts forever.
