Shadow sits and watches upon his throne of twigs and branches, hidden in- well- the shadows. 

As for what- or rather, who- he is watching: a gaggle of children meanders at his home’s borders, skipping across rocks and stumbling over sticks. There are five of them, all close to thirteen or fourteen years old- except for perhaps one of them, a little fox kit. Though Shadow can scarcely tell; perhaps he is the runt of his litter. 

They are playing a game.

It’s become a hobby of his, almost, to watch the children. He’s spent days at this point trying to figure out what they’re playing. Nonetheless, he thinks he’s got  an understanding of it- a kind of messed-up version of ‘chase’, as he and Maria used to call it.

Chase was never so… aggressive?

OPERATION: MIDNIGHT SONATA - Chapter 1 - Infiniistan - Sonic the Hedgehog - All Media Types [Archive of Our Own]

When a new threat makes itself known, Team Dark is on the case! After uncovering an underground weapon supplier/manufacturing group, G.U.N. employs the help of Team Dark in intercepting the group’s latest purchase. Rouge, Shadow, and Omega are tasked with infiltrating a prestigious gala in hopes of retrieving the mystery weapon before it’s too late.

However, what’s meant to be a simple undercover mission quickly goes awry! A “slight” miscommunication leaves the team scrambling with swapped fake identities, forcing them to make some last-minute changes to their operations. Between one-sided rivalries, aggravating representatives, and many, many, MANY technical difficulties, Team Dark certainly has their work cut out from them.

WOOO! happy 2025 sonic big bang!! this is my first time participating in an event like this :D had to really push it to meet the deadline haha, but i'm proud of what i came up with!

i was really touched by the nightmare scene my writer wrote. i woke up the next morning after reading it with a vision of my illustration, and this piece was born within the week. i wanted to show the contrast between tails' past and his/sonic's present, so i have the right side of the illustration as tails in the past (with the shadows of the battle kukkus hovering over him, and the glow of the chaos emerald in his hands) and the left side as sonic soothing him in the present, with the calm, green-hill grass underneath them.

My piece for the Sonic the Hedgehog 2025 Big Bang !!

This piece is for @stagemonarch's fic, You're My Picket Fence! It is a touching look into the unbreakable bond between Sonic and Tails, and how they help each other. I loved everything about it, so why not depict as many scenes from it as I possibly could? These brothers have had a tight hold on my heart for almost 25 years, and I couldn't have asked for a better opportunity to show what these characters mean to me.

Please check out the other piece for this fic by my fellow artist, @varena04 !! It depicts a comforting and beautiful moment between Sonic and Tails taking shelter from a storm.

I'd like to thank them both, as well as the mods of the Sonic Big Bang 2025 @sthbigbang for being so kind and helpful throughout the entire process. I'll be looking forward to next year. 😉
