o it seems like after a few months of lockdown, it is slowly coming to an end in the UK. It has certainly been a challenge for many of us. Who thought a global pandemic would hit the entire world stopping many industries including the professional actor headshots and giving many of us a compulsory holiday?

For me personally I’ve really missed interacting with people and getting a haircut. Not doing shoots has also been tough... but following UK’s government recommendations, for an industry like photography I am back to business from 4th July. It seems like it is possible that on that same date hair salons and barbers may be able to open doors to the public so we could all get that very much needed haircut.

We all had to adapt and the acting industry has been no different. Many of you guys have been rehearsing online using apps like ‘Zoom’. Taped auditions and online workshops have become much more common. Others have been doing monologues and readings on Instagram and other platforms.

For many of you now now is the perfect time to update your headshots so you can use them as a marketing tool to brand yourselves. Some of you are new to the industry and are looking at doing the first set of profesional actor headshots.

So I wanted to write this post to clarify how I am dealing with the logistics of a photo shoot at this time of lockdown.

Back to Business.

Following UK’s government recommendations, for an industry like photography I am back to business from

Transport. How to get to my Studio. My studio in located in Surrey Quays area. It is one of the units of a great modern building called Cannon Wharf. See in this link all the mesures that the company are taking to keep everyone safe within the building. It is only two tube stops from London Bridge or a short walk from Surrey Quays overground station. For some the studio may be close enough so you may consider walking to it but there are many other options.

If you are concerned about coming into a busy tube, I suggest using the overground at it is generally much quieter. If that is not an option, I would suggest avoiding rush hour transport. My shoot slots are at 9.30am and 12.30pm. Let me know where you are coming from so I could change those time to a more convenient time so you can about rush hour.

Cycling. That is the way of transport that I am using myself. You can lock your bike on designated areas just outside the studio or bring the bike inside if you’d like.

Taxi. No hassle at all.

Your own car. There is some available free parking in the area. Otherwise there are paying meters where you can park. I have enquire Cannon Wharf if they’d let my client park using their facilities and they will let me know very shortly.

I am reducing by a 25% the price for my basic and standard packages for professionals actor headshots. I hope that helps many of you the get back to business as well. You can benefit from this reduction for any shoot during the month of July.
