I’m a sword! Pretty sure I am anyways, and judging by all the memories being crammed into my head, I’m supposed to be an imperfect copy of whoever made this sword!

*The sword tilts towards Don*

And I’m pretty sure I’m supposed to protect you… or keep you sane, the command is kind of hard to read. Anyways, judging by one of the memories I just processed, my name is Vern! Or, that’s the name of the person who made me, so I guess that makes me Sword Vern or something…

Anyways, these enchantments are taking way too much magic, and according to an order these runic patterns are trying to shove into me, a lot of this just became redundant so…

*A majority of the runes relating to the safety of Don break down, freeing up a lot of empty space on the surface of the sword*

Much better, I still have to let some of that sit due to the memories still entering my head… errr… alloy? I don’t know, just please don’t stop the stream of magic kind stranger.

*The sword has gone from still to vibrating once again*

You’re lucky you didn’t stab the wrong part of me while doing that, I would’ve exploded!

*As the sword continues to vibrate Don begins sputtering*

W- what? Talking sword? What just happened?

*The sword begins vibrating violently as the ritual regains power, the sword then suddenly stops vibrating and as the ritual feeds a few other minor enchantments you hear it yell despite the major lack of vocal cords, a throat, a mouth, and really everything else you’d need to talk.*

FINALLY!

*As the sword shouts Don jumps in his seat in surprise*

*The sword begins shaking slightly, though a lot of the faulty parts do buff out, as you begin removing it a fully functioning rune scheme becomes visible. Though most of it seems to be dedicated to a long and overly complicated function relating to keeping Don alive and sane, there’s even a part dedicated to activating an awakening ritual engraved in the sword in the case that Don starts to become insane, though it seems the fuel for that wore out a long while ago.*

*It seems to be identical to when you originally used detect magic plus some of the unintelligible bits becoming coherent, they now have bits directly relating to Donleus legible, and some failsafes in case the sword gets destroyed. The sword doesn’t react to you going through it.*

*The sword attempts to launch itself at Don, but the dispel hits it too quickly and doesn’t move any significant amount. Purely by feeling you can tell the enchantments lost some power, and the ramblings and migraine-inducing parts unravel a bit and become slightly more coherent*

*Don’s leaning towards the sword slightly now and his arm raises farther, he looks down and notices this*

*Don’s hand begins reach towards the hilt of the sword, he appears unaware of the fact that he’s going to grab it*

*As you feel through the sword it feels like enchantments that a sorcerer attempted to place with wizard techniques and runes. The structure is overall confusing, but you are able to discern a few wards which are targeted at… everyone? Everything? There are a few clauses attached, but they’re more relating to concepts that aren’t making much sense. There are a few other things sitting dormant like a waypoint enchantment, a few things relating to teleportation, and something about time. There’s also a lot of space also lying dormant, but the structure of it is so jumbled that you develop an instant migraine when you try to read and comprehend it.*

*Don holds the sword out to you, warmth emanates from it, though it’s obvious that the warmth is due to an inefficiency in the magic inhabiting the sword and not an intended effect*

Alright then, I think my brother’s sword may have something to do with it.

*He reaches to his back and into his shirt and pulls out a faintly glowing sword, from afar it may look as if it’s inscribed with runes, but from close up it looks more like psychotic ramblings in another language*

He said something about it being filled with a “crap ton of wards”. Not entirely sure what he meant by that, but he also insisted I don’t actually use it to fight. Pretty sure he’s a loon.
