the ultimate (under appreciated) instrument tournament!

(or the ultimate instrument tournament season 2)

we’re back!

as previously suggested, i’m going to be running another tournament featuring all the instruments submitted for the first tournament which only revived one submission. however, as there’s an odd number of these previous submissions i’m going to be opening submissions again!

please remember that instruments will get in only if they have one submission so submit the most obscure instruments you can think of! (instruments that already revived one submission in the previous tournament will automatically get it)

as before, an instrument is anything you can use to make music (fictional instruments are not the focus of this tournament but they are allowed).

i’m only going to keep submissions open for as long as it takes to fill the tournament (aiming for 128 total! i may later regret this).

Welcome To The Gaslight Gatekeep Girlboss Tournament!

They are abusive manipulators who lie and make someone question their own sanity? Check. They control acess to information/activity/community and decide who is worthy of receiving it by themselves? Check! They are self-made and determined to succeed? CHECK! So let's start the bloody massacre for the title of the most gaslightest, gatekeepest, girlbossest of all! Rules:

No real life combatants/their fictionalized versions. Unless it's really funny ("my mom"s/"that one girl in science class"s/"our president"s if done w/o malicious intent and for pure jest may have a separate lil' competition after the final round, but they should be sent via askbox with a mark #extra)

Girlbossing is a vague termin so you may submit almost anyone as long as they have vibe

Be nice to other people, it's just a silly little tournament, there is no reason to insult others for their preferences

One (1!) character per submission! Number of submissions isn't limited

Please don't spam the same character over and over

If I made some mistake in character's name/tag/pronounce/whatever just @ me in comments as I may not have time or attention to notice it in askbox in time.

Submissions close on September 1st or at 255 entries

WELCOME… TO THE COPAGANDA CLOBBERFEST!

(i could not come up with any other tourney name. sorry)

You know that trope? That one trope *Everyone* hates? The trope in which a well meaning antagonist to our heroes, one looking out for the good of a certain community, suddenly does something horrible and drastic to make not only them, but the ideology they stand for the most villainous of all?

and no, I’m not talking “well meaning” as in… they had a sad life. Their parents died or something. Etc.

I’m talking:

“This person wants change in a corrupt system.”

“This organization made up of a marginalized group only wants their basic living rights.”

“This person wants equality for their people.”

Etc etc etc. Only for it to drastically become:

“This person wants change in a corrupt system… so they BLOW UP AN ORPHANAGE OF GRANDMOTHERS.”

“This organization made up of a marginalized group only wants basic living rights… so THEY’RE ACTUALLY EVIL UNSYMPATHETIC TERRORISTS.”

“This person wants equality for their people… EXCEPT HAHAAA THEY DONT” That stuff. Stuff that makes you really question what the writers were really trying to get across.

But enough of that, let’s talk tournaments. With as much as this trope makes these villains blow up houses of grandmas and likely makes you, the viewer, want to blow up something too, you can now throw them at me and I’ll let them blow up each other!
