I wanna say 2-3 hours for the bunch? Maybe extra if you count having to redo the battlemaster's canopy glass. The digital camo effect by far took the most time.

I just wrapped up this batch of 2nd Canopian Light Horse!

It took me a while to get the snow right... thought i could make do without microballoons but they make an enormous difference.

This is also my first stab at digital camo. It's intense and I'll just leave it at that lol

Hedy Lamarr is one of my heroes but it's really important to note that US Cyber Command is leaving out a really important detail:

When she presented frequency hopping to the US military they told her to pound sand. They said she'd better serve the war effort by selling war bonds ("just stand there and look pretty", essentially).

The military waited for the patent to expire and then jumped on it. Lamarr never saw a dime from it.

So, no. The military is not being woke here. They're glossing over how they screwed a woman who deserved better.

People think being a MechWarrior is so romantic and noble... all such illusions are cast out the first time they experience neurofeedback from an ammo explosion and it makes them shit and barf at the same time.

I have the first Fox Patol unit patch on my battle jacket.

When the Battletech Mercenaries kickstarter was live, my wife decided to make me a battle jacket so that I'd have an excuse to buy a bunch of the patches and pins for my factions, because she is the greatest. It's been close to a year, and the kickstarter is getting close to fulfillment, and she knew I was getting excited/ anxious/ impatient for the patches to be here, so she decided to surprise me with a custom patch for my favorite merc company that didn't make the cut in the kickstarter, The Fox Patrol!

She even did research on the pretty obscur unit to make it more special. See, I had commented that their official art looked a bit to Sea Fox-y to me once (just once), and she remembered that. She decided to change the colors on the patch to match unit's rust red and grey paint schemes they use on their mechs (my potato camera is making it look more white/pink than it appears IRL). She says the patch might be for a mechanic team or for drop ship crew.

My wife is not a Battletech fan. She's played a few games and painted a few mechs, but that's about the extent of it. So when she goes that deep just to make me happy, I know I married the right woman.

For real I'm so mad I had plans for my Regent.... it was gonna be a Hauptmann proxy for my Lyran Guards. And I forgot! This!

I can't believe I never showed off the bird!

First time getting the lightbox out in a while.

This one combined a lot of techniques that are new to me. The glow on the crystal was the most difficult. Fortunately my fellow BattleTech fans helped walk me through the process, for which I am very grateful lol.

The bird on the back was hand painted, and yeah it made me sweat. It was so intimidating! I can see why some painters really don't like this scheme.

This may be the best mini I've painted so far. And the Turkina was a joy to paint.

New development: it won the match by playing it safe among the buildings. Opponents didn't take the bait but fought each other instead. Leapt out at the last moment to pummel the torso off the last Mech standing: a penetrator

This sassy little bitch just murdered a Wolverine and a Nightstar. Don't worry, her armor is fine*
