I have, like, eleven or so different Moulin Rouge! the musical metaposts in me, but

1) I don't know if it's really worth it giving the show that much thought. I mean, Jekyll & Hyde already has a permanent lodging in my brain and has never paid any rent all these years, I don't know if I need another mediocre melodramatic musical in there

and

2) I am but a sad little lemon in the orchard of life and traveling has squeezed everything out of me, talk to you again in 15 to 18 business days after I have recovered a little

So after two Moulin Rouges within 24 hours, now that I'm on the ferry going back home, what song do you think is playing in my head?

this is assuming its on art you normally wouldn't jump to reblog. i myself only rb stuff i really really like so .

The 'rude/demanding' tone would be stuff along the lines of "if you like but don't reblog I'll [threat]" which i see surprisingly often, both serious and more silly

I gotta say, the peanut gallery at China Teatern, Stockholm, is consistent in that you'll always find the rudest audience in all of Northern Europe there.

In Moulin Rouge!, the blackout between the finale and the encore is maybe ten seconds, and yet, two people saw their chance and started clambering away during it. Never mind you're missing a full show number, you'll catch the subway five minutes earlier if you leave then, so it's obviously worth it.

The number of people who went to pee during the first act: sixty-seven.

Do not get me wrong: despite all my Moulin Rouge! posting and coming to Stockholm again to see it for the fifth time and whatnot, I sincerely do not think it is a very good musical.

I just happen to like it.

I feel like I understand less and less of the Swedish dialogue every time I see this.

I choose to believe that the six-person dance crew that follows the Duke around in his scenes (working their hardest to hide the fact that the Duke himself can't dance to save his life, bless his heart) is 100% diegetic in nature.
