Becoming gravid wasn’t the easiest on Scarab, but Prismo did his best to support him however he could <33

(In this timeline after a good few hundred years or so they very reluctantly let Scarab be God Auditor again, though very strict guidelines were set and his initial punishment was a good wake-up call that trials should be conducted before anybody gets incinerated-)

A lost memory, forgotten through time… or out of despair?

Woo! A lot to unpack about this one- firstly, it’s a redraw from a quick doodle made in early 2020, and as you may see, it’s of two familiar faces as children. I like to think that they like the village children in Subcon also used to wear a mask, so I made some to resemble their spirits. It’ll all make more sense when I get around to finishing the intro to the AU. But in the meantime- I’ve done a background now ;O

Felt like drawing the spirits some more so take Mark getting bitten by an angy bab, Snatcher thinking it’s absolutely hilarious, and Moonjumper off to the side confused but also thankful he chose correctly.

As a callback to that last post I made of this particular Snatch- if Hat Kid and Bow Kid had that same boss fight with him now with that soul deficiency, he wouldn’t have been able to even move after that battle lmao. Poor noodle. :3

Final ref for this AU (for now anyway) is the main man himself, our favorite contractor noodle, Snatcher. Not much different about his design or character, his style may or may not constantly change because I am forever unsatisfied by the way I draw his mane, but overall the same. More details and additional doodles under cut.

Snatcher has a much duller, greyer color to him because souls are his only form of sustenance, but now that he doesn’t eat nearly as many, he doesn’t have as much energy. Or power; he is noticeably weaker than canon Snatcher in this AU. For example, if he were to do that fight with Hat Kid now, he wouldn’t have been able to get back up after he was defeated out of exhaustion.

So, why doesn’t he eat as many souls now? 

As you can see in the right hand doodle, Snatcher is a father in this AU to twins. The one in his arms is a girl named Esther and the one hugging his head is a boy named Arthur. Any guesses on who their mother is? (Hint: Snatcher is holding something of hers in the sad doodle). The “eating souls for food” trait passed down to them, so now most of the souls Snatcher gets goes to them instead.

I am not obsessed with Moonjumper, and I definitely haven’t helped redesign a version of him made by my friend @thechaoticshadowpuppet for an AU, and absolutely have not been drawing him constantly to experiment with poses and animal legs. Nothing to see here.

Character design and new OC just dropped-

In my previous Moonjumper posts I said I have an AU in development- well, these are two more characters in it. Shapeshifter and Abigail, or as they go by in this AU, Mark and Buddy! More details under cut.

First is Mark. He’s quite different than other Shapeshifter’s I’ve seen- most depict him as a cryptid, chaotic changeling/creature that wreaks havoc on everyone else for pure fun- not him. For those who cannot read my sloppy handwriting, Mark is a spirit like Moonjumper and Snatcher. He was once a human himself, a younger prince brother to be more specific. After he died, he sewed himself a new body and became corporeal. He’s kind of like the Subconites. He gave his body those long ears to resemble that of a rabbit, and they move depending on his emotion! Mark has the power to shapeshift, and does so by unstitching his suit, the ‘goop’ molding into his new form. He also has needle-like feet. He can walk, but prefers to hover slightly above the ground.

Next is Buddy, who’s basically Mark’s opposite. In their lifetime, they were an assistant to the prince in his scientific studies, but had a knack then and even now for getting into trouble. Buddy’s true calling was engineering, but at that time it was seen as bizarre for a woman to pursue that career, and even more so that they didn’t always feel like one. After death from Vanessa’s ice-splosion, Buddy is almost always connected to the ground, and travels via teleportation. One power they possess, however, is to also shapeshift- not into animals or objects, rather into different states of matter, like smoke!
