Funnily, it was season two that made me into a hardcore SHSE shipper. Something about the way the writer/director made sure to emphasize just how important Suho is. The fierceness with which Sieun loves and protects him, positively radiating through the screen. The long-awaited reunion where a thousand things were said with just their eyes alone. Sieun practically bursting out his skin with emotion. It all just hit so hard and made me love the ship even more.

i need to hang this post on my wall, have it tattooed on my forehead. there's nothing more i love than someone perfectly getting shse and describing their relationship so beautifully.

i try not to make every series about bl but something about suho x sieun…

they absolutely have that quietly devastating, “i would kill for you and then feel bad about it later—but not that bad” kind of love and no one can convince me otherwise. like. they are so insanely emotionally bonded in a way that is not normal for two teenage boys who allegedly just became friends after someone got the lights knocked out of them.

like we’re talking about a boy (suho) who deadass let this scrawny genius rage-robot (sieun) into his orbit, no questions asked, no judgment, just stood beside him like “oh you’re a problem? cool, i fight problems.” and then somehow in the process became his safe place. became the first person sieun chooses to look at when shit goes south. and you know sieun doesn’t choose anyone lightly. this is a boy who calculates every move like a chessboard but when suho’s involved, it’s all instinct. all gut. all heart.

and suho??? please. that man fell so hard and so fast it was like watching a building implode. he started off like “i guess i’ll babysit this guy before he gets himself killed” and then suddenly it’s “don’t you ever touch him again or i will end your life.” not in the dramatic anime way but in the terrifying, i’m dead serious way. suho and sieun dont threaten, they promise.

they have that kind of love that doesn’t need to be named because it’s in the way suho always steps between sieun and a threat, in the way sieun never panics unless it’s suho who’s bleeding, in the way they look at each other like the world’s gone quiet for a second. you know that meme “don’t do it, you’ll catch feelings,” and the other person’s already caught? yeah. that’s them. only suho caught feelings and then built a fucking fortress around sieun to protect him from the rest of the world. and sieun keeps trying to pretend he doesn’t need it even though he never moves out of its shadow.

they don’t say “i love you.” they say “you’re not alone anymore.” they say “let’s go home.” they say “i’ll take the fall if it means you walk away.” like are you KIDDING. they invented ride or die. they breathe it.

anyway. in conclusion: they are already married, emotionally if not legally. if you look closely, you can see the wedding rings in their glances. i am simply a witness at their unspoken, bloody, beautifully codependent ceremony.

thinking abt sieun studying everything he can about suho's condition and filling SEVERAL notebooks cover to cover with suho's symptoms, scope of abilities, progress. he painstakingly draws diagrams and step by step instructions of the muscle rehabilitation exercises suho's physiotherapist gives him so he can guide him through it when he forgets. he pulls aside nurses at the hospital to take notes on the medication suho's taking, his calorie intake, his BMI and rate of muscle mass regeneration. he stays up late reading case study after case study of long-term coma patients and how well they recovered after waking up. sieun who isn't studying medicine but gets mistaken for it all the time bc even in the uni study halls he's watching some sort of medical video on head trauma and its effect on cognition.

just !! give me sieun who uses studying and knowledge as a coping mechanism because he hates feeling so powerless when it comes to suho's health

in my own personal opinion i think the reason people are so attached to Sieun and Suho’s relationship (me included) is the fact that they’re both willing to cross the line for the other. like there’s not a line in the world i think they wouldn’t cross. and there’s a sort of safety and stability in that. like if no one else then this person is going to bring down heaven and raise hell for me. and not just in defending or protecting- but in pushing forward no matter how the situation is to let you know they’re not going anywhere. Suho watched Sieun and something in his soul resonated with him. Sieun slowly but surely got to know Suho in everything that encompassed him and Sieuns soul likewise found its yang. they ARE each other’s other half- and i think that’s what kinda pulls you in and keeps you.

imagine being in the world and having this one person who accepts all of you as you are-especially if your a little ‘abnormal’. Someone who pulls you out of you shell but also respects and loves how YOU are as an individual. Someone who’s willing to stare down the devil and just smile because there’s only one way this is ending and that’s with their person safely on the other side. Even in that short time they both TRULY saw the other in their most simplistic form and CHOSE one another. and something about that just makes me feel a good kinda way.

(mind you there’s so much more i could speak on this and i probably didn’t word it as best as i could have but there’s just so much about their relationship that i find a comfortable safety in)

jealous, possessive suho is peak and i will eat it up with a spoon every time

suho being an extremely jealous person is SO canon to me but i also think he's very conscious of not being controlling/overbearing?? so when he needs to get his possessiveness out of his system he tries to do it in subtle ways. e.g. trying to get sieun to wear one of his windbreakers.

suho: hey wear this

sieun: why? i have my own

suho: doesn't matter just wear this

sieun: no it's too big

suho, at his limit: THEN ROLL UP THE DAMN SLEEVES

eventually he manages to wrestle one onto him and sieun wears it to school. baku n the gang immediately notice bc? yeon sieun? wearing anything to school but his uniform? so they go hey is that suho's? and sieun's like yeah, he gave it to me. dunno why but he rlly wanted me to have it. juntae, our emotionally intelligent king, later takes sieun aside and is like, bro. you know why suho wants you to wear his jacket right? and sieun's like?? no? so juntae is like, he wants to make it obvious.

sieun: make what obvious?

juntae: that you're his.

cue sieun getting very red in the face and changing the topic.

(and yet, he doesn't take the jacket off the entire day.)

Sieun going into a coma in the 7th episode just like Suho was actually insane and something we don't talk about enough. Soulmate behavior at its finest. The writer/director was high off the SHSE pill when they thought of this.

What if we were so deeply connected that we fell into comas on the same episode of different seasons?

What if we were so deeply connected that when you got injured we made the people who hurt each other’s lives a living hell?

What if we were so deeply connected that when you got put into a coma, I thought I would never love again?

suho and sieun are two halves of one whole. Suho is loud and brash, sieun is quiet and calculating. UNTIL it comes to fighting- that’s when suho is quiet and his moves are determined precisely meanwhile sieun fights with anything and everything- he fights like a caged animal who just wants to destroy whatever is in front of him. and when it comes to the other- both are gonna decimate whatever is in their path. and apart of me finds that comforting, like both of them are truly willing to damn themselves for the other. there is not a single line their not willing to cross for the other. that kinda love is rare and truly beautiful to me.

My favorite contrast of Sieun and Suho has to be when they're seriously pissed off. Suho becomes menacing, all cold anger and controlled, precise violence whereas Sieun goes feral, all explosive rage and wild, messy crashouts. Complete opposites but perfectly complementary.

A lot of people seem to think Sieun's and Suho's relationship is just sweet and lovey dovey and nice, and completely miss the darker, violent side of their connection. For hurting Sieun, Suho breaks Yeongbin's hand like nothing and sits there completely unbothered while that boy cries in pain at his feet. For hurting Suho, Sieun smashes Wooyoung's ankle with a dumbbell and leaves him screaming on the floor, utterly uncaring. Both are capable of great violence and are deeply obsessed with each other to the point of unleashing it on others with no fucks given.

Super unpopular opinion, and I mean it might literally just be me, but Seongje just didn't work for me as a character. He felt so generic and two dimensional. I've seen characters with that exact personality before and nothing about him was particularly unique or interesting. Like yes, he's attractive, morally grey, chaotic neutral/evil, but that's literally it. The character is paper thin.
