Why did I create comic "How Do Artists Disappear" in the first place?
Hello! I wanted to say thank you very much for how much attention you pay to the first issues of my comic! Thanks for your reblogs and comments, it really helps me show my work to more people, which is why I came here <3 Now that I have shown you Chapter 0, I would like to tell you and perhaps interest you in why I created it in the first place.
For many years I have been having a complex about me being unable to find for myself at least one aspect of art (creativity, artistry, whatever) that I would see for myself as at least somewhat significant and important. I wasn't impressed by the beautiful drawings of other authors, I wasn't interested in their character concepts, I don't understand how adopts work (in general), animated memes on YouTube amuse me, but not so much that I attach much importance to it, I'm not in a hurry to watch the ones that just came out movies and TV series to draw fanart quickly, because in principle it’s harder for me to watch something new than to re-watch something old. Looking at the works of other authors, I have nothing to cling to, nothing to identify myself with, and sometimes at such moments it seems to me that I am not an artist at all, since my friends enthusiastically show someone’s drawing to me, but I somehow feel indifferent. Sometimes I even forced myself to subscribe to other authors just so as not to be in a tank and to see what my surroundings are doing and what is interesting to the audience in their works, which, in my opinion, is even a pity.
But what I really appreciate and what, in my opinion, lacks attention is the illumination of human feelings, and especially the feelings and sensations of the artists and creators themselves. To say that I am soul-searching is an understatement, and during particularly difficult times I tried to go to the Internet to find at least some advice, but there was nothing there, and I want to fix it. Sometimes I was lucky to talk with other artists about exciting topics, and this helped, but very few of them can voice what they really feel - due to modesty, embarrassment, and simple reluctance. I came out of the days and months of soul-searching with a large baggage of mistakes, thoughts, conclusions. This is why I'm going to make a book called "How Artists Disappear." This is a story about how I see creative burnout, what mistakes I made to fall even further into the abyss, what conclusions and lessons I came away with, but the story is not sad at all - but very encouraging with a lot of comparisons and my personal wonderful stories . This is an idea that I really think is important, that I value and am passionate about. If I succeed, this book will be the first in a series of books by me about the peculiarities of creative self-identification, and I will take another step towards what really matters to me. Because guys, believe me - I absolutely don’t care that I may have artifacts in the drawings, a torn outline, jerky animation, but when you write to me that this is “life” and you can relate to it, when I share personal moments with you and we can talk about this is one of the best feelings in my life.
That's it. Thank you again for all your support and attention <3

Hi! My name is Nadya, I am a comic artist from Belarus. And on the picture above there is Lori - my character through which I'm telling my stories. This is my first time on this platform and I decided to move because the platform I was on before - VK - forces artists to do daily posting and video clips in order for their art to be promoted, which I completely disagree with, and now I hope to try my luck with my creativity in other places. I draw comics about the struggles of artists and their self-identity, the emotional difficulties that creative people face. I hope here I can introduce more people to my work <3
Little bit worried and even anxious, but hopeful and excited!
