i'm watching the current season to get ideas... i have a question. how did you all decide on who to put in the maze? and how did you decide who goes in which clearing?

i'm very disconnected from what's happening on this side of starr, aren't i...?

Through arduous interviews! Participants were selected by several means and we interviewed them, then narrowed down which ones we'd take in for this season. Others remain on waiting or received a different faith.

As for who goes in which clearing, it was on order of notice. At one point we were told "thats enough" and we started sorting the following people after that point into the second clearing.

Both clearing A and B were distributed from before the premiere of the season. However participants Acho and Kyle were a bit of last minute additions. Which is why they didn't have a clearing, and were simply sent up in a maze elevator. I personally don't count their area as another clearing, but that's up for debate, both in the fan community and the employees on this side ourselves.

Hello. So has the Royal Family of district 8 ever contact Starr once it was revealed Princess Rasbi passed or was even in the mazeĺ

Yes. Yes, they've known since day one.

Members of the Royal Family of district 8 all expressed different stances on Princess Rasbi entering the maze, but it was her choice in the end.

They were all watching her every move, as far as I know.

I even had to remove Lord Chescribe's rights to speaking to Owen, being one of his "voices", since he got a bit out of line, and could've revealed more than allowed.

But the Royal Family still made their best attempts to speak to Rasbi, warn her that "someone was after her". Sadly that didn't prevent her demise.

May she Rest In Peace. All Hail The Crown.

Perhaps I enjoy the more 'tormenting' voices of Owen's partially more, it's a shame that you do manage to deal with such issues so fast- I assume that's manual use of the chip's memory blockers when he seems to forget just after something that may rouse a memory.

Though, it's unusual. No outsiders seem to remember as much as he does so early on- even if it still seems mostly incomprehensible. Is that intentional?

Oh tormenting voices are fun, don't get me wrong. However if one of them lets on TOO much or straight up namedrops someone. That is an issue. It can really break the immersion.

You'd be correct, also, they'll keep on like nothing happened.

About memories, everyone remembers at their own rate. That isnt intentional, and some do remember stuff. They just dont comment on it, im sure. You can see through their eyes, after all, not their mental images, that'd be a bit absurd, wouldn't it? haha.

I'm very sorry, but no, I've shared all I could. We are not allowed to talk about any of the creatures too much- just know: the scorpion shape of those tails isn't purely aesthetic. A sting of that will have consequences :)

Hello doctor.

I have a question about the 2 contests we didn't get to watch but we're announced With the names Eryn (Cybronox) and Nico

What ever happened with the 2?

Did their chips get placed incorrectly or something? And how did Eryn end up escaping alone?

There were a few issues- miscommunication

They got sent before their chips got placed at all- that wasnt supposed to happen

We followed them with cameras a bit to see what they did and make sure they didn't get too far on anything or ruin something for our actually chipped contestants

And well- Eryn is just Eryn

Nico never made it. Most people pretend he didnt happen.

Eryn is still around. He visits sometimes?? Acts like everyone is his friend, too

Doesn't seem too bothered by much. Or by getting his memories erased. I dont remember when his interview was but he seems like he volunteered or something? Ill have to ask later cause I'm almost as confused as everyone else to be honest.

We are doing good yes yes!! Couple fights here and there, but its nothing major or work related, most of the time its just usual banter lol

But yeah its been a bit of chaos since this season started, everyones always got something to do... except for me. Owen's voices are so well behaved over all, I'm so close to trading with someone if thats even possible- the man bores me out a lil sometimes.. /lh

How have you been, friend? I miss hearing updates from you!

I’ve been a little bit curious about this, but with all the advertising Starr’s been doing about the chips and what they can do, I’d assume that it’s something your department works on?

if it is, care to impart your wisdom upon us? Doesn’t have to be anything big, just maybe a less erm- Scott brand advertisement-esque version of what they can do.

And first of all. Hello there! I've been doing quite fine today, I had a turkey sandwhich, how are you?

Second of all. Yeah for sure! I get the thing with Scott, he's not for everyone ig :/

Okay so while my department did work on the chips, *I* wasn't one to get hands on with the whole thing- I help install them, yes, everyone is required to know how to do that and how they work. However yeah, personally didnt make em

And i cant exactly tell you how theyre made/work internally cause thats classified info. But!

They hold vitals of the person who has them (name, species, race, district, age, etc).

They control memories (sorta like memory blockers, they work as sort of walls preventing everything to flood back in at some stuff, yknow allow to delay big stuff cause realisticallly we know a lot more stuff in the enviorment theyre put in could trigger flashbacks, they kinda prevent that or blurr it out more.

They can technically cut someone's life short- a lesser known fact about em! The chips can at any point in time kill off your favs. We are forbidden from doing so, of course, but it is a possibility. We do have plans to implement this in future seasons as a mechanic but you gotta wait for that one :)

Oh yeah along with keeping track of people's vitals- forgot to clarify. They keep track of their heart rate, and can tell us if theyre alive or not, then that immediately sends out a tweet to update the official socials. It also notifies Scotts and other higher ups in case it happens while live on tv.

Oh and if you ever get send to or for some reason apply for a future season? And you got diabetes, heart problems, etc etc. The chips will provide you with doses of insulin or any medication you may need. If you just gotta get ur sugar levels up a lil we'll make it so you have sugar cravings w/o even checking, in case you didnt realize yourself (? So dont worry about dying from medical problems, that'd be lame as hell to watch haha so ur good

And of course: theyre what connects the participants to their lovely live chat or "voices", as they call them. Fun fact that was all their doing, we didn't intend for the voices to specifically be called so or even sign off with names or numbers but- I guess thats the wonder of reality tv! Things happen so naturally and its perfect

Are you able to share anything about the grievers? I've always been fascinated by them.

Are they a merge between a biological and mechanical being?

Also, Dr.Moon, do you have any advice for those of us in the audience who aspire to one day be working with STARR? It is a notoriously difficult place to get situated into, after all.

Oooooh... I cant really talk much about our lil creatures.. however! You're on the right track with that guess :)

Just know, you won't find anything like it in the wild.. and that they're a bit of a pain in the ass, even for workers... the maze was meant to be a bit smaller, as in more claustrophobic. But those damn things just wont fit through narrow spaces so.

And as for joining the crew... hmm

Well, it trully is an honor to work for S.T.A.R.R ! And to get hired well- it's tricky... there aren't many spots open, since many replacements are already hired in advance each year... and it really depends on what you wanna apply for...

However as a piece of advice id say: Work hard. Study. Be the best at whatever you do. Be it make up, science, combat (watchmen must be strong on hand to hand AND weaponry). Etc etc. Just work hard and perfect your habilities the most you can.

If you go to a very prestigious collage and such, some are affiliated with the company, always ask first before assuming and whatnot.

Oh and having a friend in is always good. Im not saying befriend workers just for their positions, I mean some lower workers barely leave the instalations but- if you do bump into someone who may work at S.T.A.R.R, be nice! Maybe they'll spread good word about you in advance!

And how do you spot a lucky worker out and about? Great question that I'll assume you're wondering!

You can't! Cause we really just look like normal people (asides from Scott and the like... id *expect you* to know Scott haha.)

Soooo yeah just generally be nice to people, cause you cant know if they wont be the one with the final word on some high place in your future...

Oooh interesting questions, lets see...

Generally we are the ones to make the magic come to life... not to ruin that magic but. You ever noticed how quick crops grow in that soil? You can thank that to yours trully :)

I figured out a lil something that keeps that ground extra fertile. Im not revealing the secrets but just know its possible (dont try to figure it out yourself tho, there have been many accidents even in a lab full of "professionals")

The traps and special arrows from the maze? Drs F and Tay are part of the teams that make em, respectively.

Dr Myth is one of our more social ones, him and I prep the lovely contestants before they go up the elevator. He's the one to interview them before we decide who gets in and who doesn't.

We must all monitor the people that get to speak to the contestants. Usually we dont step in ourselves, however recently we had a bit of an inconvinience with a certain public figure speaking up and- sharing a bit more than he should've, in a bit of a fit of rage...

I had to handle that cause- SOMEHOW I was the only one awake on duty when it happened...

If you get banned from speaking you can still watch, dont worry. And you don't really get banned as much as you get suspended, too. After some time passes you're able to appeal to get unbanned and stuff, if you behave properly next time.

Saying straight up 4th wall breaking stuff or backseating by switching points of view, however, can and will get you perma banned.

Your appeal might also take some time to get looked over and approved, if it even does-

Tho some people pay to get insta approved or even skip the waiting time to submit the appeal...

EHEM. Favorite? Favorite.. favorite.... who is my favorite... I have to say, I'm a big fan of the 2nd Clearing, theyre much more peaceful. I think from the 1st clearing however my favorites have to be Graecie and Squidney. From 2? Cake, Soup, Ayngel- okay I can go on forever. I love watching that bunch a lot during breaks ngl :]

Welcome, voices- HA, nah, I ain't doin that, sorry guys…

Heya there people, I'm sure you must be wondering who I am. Well, I can answer that pretty easily: My name is Pearlescentmoon, and I am a lab worker here at STARR Enterprises! (He/She/Xer is preferred.. try not to stick with just one, specially not she, please </3)

That's right, people, I'm one of the scientists responsible for erasing the memories of and prepping up some of your favorite criminals!

I've been around for a couple years now, and I've decided to start this little blog to answer some of your questions! Consider this a bit of a Behind The Scenes of sorts…

I'm currently posting alone, but know that I'm certainly not working alone! I've got my wonderful cousins by my side! My lab partners: Gem, Fwhip, and Sausage!
