( this is day 3 of @bridalribbon’s 333 event !! )

FOOLS JOURNEY ✶ where do you go in your dr when you need to remember who you are ? the location that feels more like home than home itself. what makes this place yours, and what do you do there that you can’t do anywhere else ?

when I need to remember who I am—who I really am—I go to the rooftop.

not the private penthouse kind with catered drinks and glass railings. no, this is the cracked, concrete roof of the apartment we all share. the one with the half-broken lawn chair someone rescued from the trash. theres graffiti on the side of the water tank ( some of it ours ), old cigarette burns on the ledge, and a perfect view of the city that we’re learning to call home.

it’s not glamorous, but it’s mine.

up there, the noise of the world softens. the screaming fans, the cameras, the flashbulb chaos—it fades until all I can hear is the hum of distant traffic and the wind pushing against my skin like a friend who never left. sometimes, if it’s late enough, you can hear someone in the next building playing an old song on an out-of-tune guitar. I close my eyes and pretend it’s me.

theres a milk crate full of old notebooks in the corner—lyrics, drawings, half-written ideas I tossed aside but couldn’t bring myself to throw away. sometimes I’ll sit cross-legged on the floor and flip through them like tarot cards, trying to remember what 15-year-old me thought was important.

its humbling. yet grounding.

I light a cigarette, even if I don't finish it. I breathe in the quiet. I look at the stars that look the same no matter how much my life changes, no mater how far i go. and I remember.

I remember why I started all of this. that before the sold out arenas and magazine covers and brand campaigns, I was just a girl from a foreign country with a guitar and something to prove. before the world knew my name, I was learning how to use it. up here, there’s no pressure to perform. I can cry. I can scream. I can laugh so loud it echoes against the building across from me.

I can just be selene. no title. no legacy. no costume. just me.

and somehow, every time I come back down from that rooftop, I feel a little more like myself again

📍berlin germany - august 26th 2007

　　　　　our very first real show, in front of a sea of people- ones who payed to see us, who called themselves our fans. the opening night of our first tour, that really started everything.

　　　　　I can still feel the weight of the stage lights pressing down on my skin. not in a heavy way—more like heat. like spotlight sunburn. the way they illuminated the sweat already forming on my brow before we even played a single note. I remember pacing back and forth backstage, my boots too tight, my hands shaking as I tried to retune my guitar for the third time. Bill was applying eyeliner in a broken mirror. Tom wouldn’t stop tapping his foot. Georg was laughing at something no one else heard, and Gustav was quiet, just listening to the hum of the crowd.

　　　　　I asked myself: what if they hate us? what if we’re not good enough?

　　　　　and then… someone said my name.

　　　　　not from the crew. not from my band. from the audience.

　　　　　one voice—clear as day—screamed “Selene!” and the crowd erupted right after, like they’d been holding their breath, waiting for that moment. that one name. my name.

　　　　　I don’t even remember walking out. I just blinked and I was there, center stage, blinding lights in my eyes and the sound of thousands of voices crashing over me like a wave. I couldn’t see faces, just outlines—shapes swaying, hands raised, lights from phones flickering like stars in the dark.

　　　　　my fingers found the chords. my voice found the note. and when we started the first song… it was like my soul clicked into place.

　　　　　I remember the feeling of my chest vibrating from the bass, the way Tom grinned at me across the stage like we’re really doing this. I remember Bill twirling the mic stand like it was part of his body, Gustav in perfect rhythm, Georg’s hair stuck to his forehead. I remember screaming into the mic and hearing the crowd scream it right back, louder.

　　　　　it felt like coming home to a place I hadn’t known I’d missed.

　　　　　afterward, we collapsed backstage like we’d just run a marathon—sweaty, breathless, laughing. I sat on the floor, makeup smudged, my ears still ringing, and whispered, “this is the best night of my life.”

　　　　　and it was. not because it was flawless. it wasn’t.

　　　　　but because it was ours.

　　　　　the beginning of something much bigger than us.

　　　　　( this is day 1 of @bridalribbon's 333 event !! )

PHANTOM LIMBS ✶ what do you miss most about your desired reality when you’re in your current reality ? which physical sensation feels wrong or missing here ? maybe it’s the absence of someone’s hand in yours, or the missing sound of a voice calling your name. what part of your reality’s body do you reach for that isn’t there ?

　　　　　the first few moments after I open my eyes are always strange. I imagine they are for everyone—when you’re not fully awake, not entirely sure where you are yet. in that liminal space between dreaming and reality, my soul feels tethered to two places at once. its like my mind hasn’t chosen a side yet, and for a moment, the two blur together into something soft and hazy.

　　　　　there have been mornings when I’ve jolted upright to slam my hand on my alarm clock—only to hit the wrong object entirely. the familiar plastic isn't there. Instead, I knock my bedside lamp to the floor, its crash snapping me fully into this version of reality. my phone blares its alarm on the dresser across the room. and then I remember: theres no alarm clock here. not like the one back home.

　　　　　sometimes I swear I still hear Tom’s voice in that space between sleep and waking—banging on my door and yelling at me to “get your lazy ass up already” for some chaotic mission or errand he’s decided to drag me into. I’ll even reach for the blanket to throw it off, ready to stomp down the hall and yell back at him…

　　　　　but when I open my eyes, my room is quiet. the sound fades. its just me, and the soft cooing of mourning doves outside my window.

　　　　　still, there’s a strange hollowness in my chest. a lingering ache that whispers, you were supposed to wake up somewhere else.

　　　　　I miss the chaos of our apartment. calling it "loud" doesn’t even begin to cover it. someone was always awake—always. I miss Bill belting out entire concerts in the shower like the bathroom was his stage. Tom screaming bloody murder when he lost a video game at 4 a.m. the bass vibrating through the floor from Georg’s never-ending playlists. Gustav rhythmically tapping his drumsticks on anything and everything: tables, countertops, his own leg.

　　　　　mornings were a mess of yelling, laughing, and burnt toast. the kitchen was a battlefield. we’d fight over who had to do dishes, who finished the last of the cereal, or who had control of the remote for Sunday movie night. it was loud. it was chaotic… but it was home.

　　　　　I miss them—so deeply it makes my whole body ache. they’re not just my bandmates. they’re my family. and no matter how loud or dysfunctional we are, there’s nothing I wouldn’t give to wake up to that noise again.

THE CHARIOT. 〝 moving forward in a positive direction. 〞 tell us about a journey in your dr! how was your first ever train ride to a certain magical school? do you want to go on a roadtrip sometime? how about a world tour?

STRENGTH. 〝 triumphant conclusion to a major life problem. 〞 you’ve overcome something in your desired reality - what was it? simply tell us about, or make a playlist or moodboard about your strength arc! was it a moment of bravery, emotional healing, or standing up for yourself? did you win a battle, mend a broken friendship, or finally face your fears?

THE HERMIT. 〝 gain a greater understanding of oneself. 〞 who is someone in your dr who knows you better than yourself? they could be a significant other, a friend, a family member, or even a pet! what about your fandom or the press? is there a paparazzi story you wanna share?

WHEEL OF FORTUNE. 〝 fate, destiny, and unexpected change. 〞 create your own personal wheel of fortune. what symbols, people, or places would appear on it that represent luck in your dr?

WEEK THREE. ( XI XII XIII XIV XV )

JUSTICE. 〝 fairness, truth, and taking accountability. 〞 let's play truth or truth! (you're welcome to answer each question with a dr - or drs - of your choice, you don't need to answer for one specific dr) i. do you think you're a good person in your dr? why or why not? ii. is there a 'bad guy' in your dr who you secretly understand too well? iii. what are you shifting to your dr for? fame? love? money? drama? or just the experience? iv. what's the most controversial thing you've done/will do in your dr?.. come on... we won't judge v. what's your juiciest secret in your dr?

THE HANGED MAN. 〝 the importance of gaining new perspectives in our own lives. 〞 create a moodboard of how you look in the eyes of someone important in your dr. e.g. your s/o, friend(s), kids, parents, pet, teachers, etc.

DEATH. 〝 typically implies an end. 〞 tell us about an ex partner or ex friend in your dr. who are they? how did you meet? why didn't things work out?

TEMPERANCE. 〝 balance, healing, and harmony 〞 create your dr care kit! design a care package full of things that help you feel balanced in your dr items can be something in your cr (like candles, crystals, tea blends) or dr-specific (like a potion your best friend brews, or a custom playlist from your s/o).

THE DEVIL. 〝 temptation, indulgence, and desire. 〞 host your dr vice party! you're throwing an invite-only after hours party... what kind of chaos ensues? who's on the guest list? who's not on the guest list? what's your vice? are you drinking expensive wine, wearing something dramatic, sneaking off to gossip? you could add a playlist that matches the vibe, write a fake magazine article or paparazzi coverage of the night, or describe what happens when the party starts to spiral (affairs? arguments? unexpected truths?).

WEEK FOUR. ( XVI XVII XVIII XIX XX XXI )

THE TOWER. 〝 sudden unforseen change. 〞 create two moodboards of before and after a change in your dr. it could be a relationship, fame, friendship, etc.

THE STAR. 〝 optimism, hope, and renewal. 〞 tell us about one of your favourite scenarios you've scripted that you’re excited to experience! is it something simple like a hang out with your friend? or something massive like your wedding day?

THE MOON. 〝 illusion, mystery, and the subconscious. 〞 create a mysterious letter or message your dr self receives. it could be from the universe, a loved one, future-you, or anonymous! and what is your reaction?

THE SUN. 〝 representative of the universe coming together and agreeing with your path. 〞 create a highlight reel of your dr! pick 3+ 'scenes' that show your dr self at your happiest, and describe them in short bursts, moodboard them, edit them, or even make them look like instagram highlights.

JUDGEMENT. 〝 reflection, evolution, and recognition. 〞 your reality yearbook! hand out yearbook-style superlatives of yourself and others in your dr. bonus: include mini yearbook quotes for each person :)

THE WORLD. 〝 a cycle of life. 〞 create a dr 'season finale' post. how would your journey wrap up (for now)? imagine your dr as a tv show, film, or book - how does this chapter end? write a closing scene, make a mini trailer, a moodboard of your life, draft your dr's 'credits' (cast list, soundtrack, etc), who would've written your screenplay? tim burton, sofia coppola?

　　　　　i love that you can look down into the kitchen and living room from up here, and before you even ask yes we tried to see if it was possible to jump from the ledge down to the couch and it is in fact possible...but the couch was broken in the process.

TOM'S BEDROOM

　　　　　both mine and tom's rooms are on the third floor, this is his room. ive gotten almost 100% used to being able to sleep thru his screaming when he plays video games.

MY BEDROOM

　　　　　FINALLY !!! lol welcome to my room, my favorite place in the whole world. like i mean come on just look at it, its pretty awesome right... ( j say yes okay )

　　　　　heyyy MTV welcome to my crib:) i am so excited to show yall around ( i deep cleaned the house at 6am for this ) what who said that...? okay anyways, come on in lets get started !!

THE EXTERIOR

　　　　　we moved in, in august of 2007 since we were all finally old enough and ready to move out. for now we all live together simply because its a lot easier to do rehearsals and everything else we need to do under one roof. plus for as messy and ( annoying ) as the boys can be, its actually a lot of fun living together and i'm pretty happy that we all do for the time being.

　　　　　and believe me when i say we have plenty of space. there's three stories and we all get our own room ( thank god ) its like the perfect size to fit all of us

THE MAIN FLOOR LIVING ROOM

　　　　　welcome in ! this is the main floor living room where 99% of the time at least one of us is going to be down here. this is where we have movie nights, game nights, parties (and quite literally anything else tbh ) but yeah !

THE KITCHEN

　　　　　right over here is the kitchen / dining room ( we dont have like a dining room, we just eat at the island ) aren't the pink lights cute? i put those in myself ! but thats about all my contributions for the kitchen since me and bill are basically banned from cooking... yes i started a fire but it was one time !

THE BALCONY

　　　　　yay my second favorite place (after my bedroom ofc ) the balcony!! i am out here at least once a day rain or shine, i love me some fresh air tbh (and also its the smoke spot but whatever ) its so cozy out here and the sunsets are amazing

BILL'S ROOM

　　　　　this is bill's room, he's the only one with a bedroom on the main floor and this is quite literally the cleanest this room will ever be...god he does not know what 'putting your clothes away' means i swear.

okay let's head on downstairs! since we were technically just on the "second floor" but thats where the door to get in and out of the house is

　　　　　so right when you head down the stairs you reach this space that we turned into a second living room with a small recording studio. this is mainly where we go to work on song writing, producing, brainstorming etc. we have a separate recording studio with our company where we record all of our albums and have rehearsals, but this place is great bc its just right in our own apartment!

GEORG'S ROOM

　　　　　down the hall is georg and gustav's bedrooms, this one is georg's. sometimes i'm tempted to steal one of his posters to see if he'd even notice since he has so many.

GUSTAV'S ROOM

　　　　　and then this room is gustav's, which is easily the cleanest room out of all the boy's rooms. he's lowkey a neat freak but don't tell him i said that !
