okay so I was thinking about tetro's cast again, specifically about how much more real and emotionally impactful they feel in comparison to even some of my personal favorite fangans. and it made me begin to think about something that I hadn't really thought about until now I'm not sure how to describe this exactly, but in a lot of fangans, the characters...don't really feel like they have lives outside of the killing game. let me explain what I mean by that. in a lot of fangans, unless it is story-relevant or trauma, we don't ever really get to learn about the personal lives of these characters. we don't get to know much about their family, their friends, any (possible) romantic partners, colleagues, or any other relationships they might've had outside of the killing game unless, again, it's story-relevant or something traumatic and let me just say before I say anything else; this is completely fine lmao. I'm not saying this to put down anyones danganronpa fanfiction, that aint what I'm here to do. and it makes sense to only focus on what is the most important for the story rather than details that on the surface may seem innocuous

but here's where we circle back to tetro, because not only do we learn a lot about the personal relationships each student has, but the prologue combined with the student terminals work together to paint such a clear picture of what each student's daily life was like before the situation they find themselves in, and I find that having that clear picture in your head while watching the actual series makes the death of each student hit all the more harder. when a character dies in tetro, the tragedy of their death doesn't just lie in the potential they had, or what they were trying to achieve, but in the people that they left behind, the people who will also be affected now that they're gone, and thats not a feeling I experience with most fangans.

Hi Tumblr Jasons!!! You may have been seeing a bunch of art of the Tetro cast as graduates and wonder “what’s that all about?” Well, I’m here to tell you all about it now!

Welcome to the TDRP Celebration Art Collab!

In order to celebrate Tetro Pink coming to a close, I decided to host this! How does this work? I’m glad you asked!

Jasons will be drawing fully body art of the cast wearing graduation gowns!! (Get it, because graduation usually mark the end of something and the beginning of another? Also bc they’re in high school!) Feel free to dazzle up the gowns as well!

I’ll open 10 slots (maybe more depending on interest) per Pink Character. Once the slots for a character is full, it’ll be closed until every character is full! In the end, I’ll gather all the art, put them all together on a pretty little background, and we can celebrate!! It’ll be one panel per character (EX: Panel 1 is all the Isono Graduates! Panel 2? Harada!)

Additionally, for Staffside people, you can draw the MokoSonas as Teachers celebrating the graduation of their students! However, they have less slots open! So if you want them, be quick!

The last day to apply will be May 6th (to give artists the time to finish) and the deadline is May 9th!

Tetro Danganronpa Pink spoilers . . . The people who say Watari's motives and plan in CH4 mischaracterized her are so loud and wrong I seriously can't fathom how a good portion of the fanbase (from my understanding) are saying this is the case. Did u guys watch tetro with ur eyes closed and ears shut??? Hello??????????

Initially I wrote a whole ass essay on why this isn't the case and how personally her representation about people going through depression / suicidal thoughts was handled very realistically, but that wasn't worth my energy so TLDR:

Just because Nishi acted "naïve" and "carefree" doesn't equal that she wasn't going through her internal battles. There's more to digest from her character rather than what's obviously spoonfed to you on the videos. Her interview alone shows the amount of work she had to go through in her life (also worth to add the post CH3 finale & confession game) that put her under so much stress. Thank yuo for coming to my Tedtalk

TETRO CH4 SPOILERS!!!

ive seen a few people saying what watari did was evil and wrong which seriously makes me mad, sure, watari roping hama into her plan may be wrong but reminder, she is a child, she is 17.

she is a child who was constantly under stress at home and finally had her first experience without having to look after her family and had to see people she considered friends die around her and found out her closest friend killed two people and was insane

she went through three weeks of mental torture with close secrets being forced out of her and being forced to stay awake, breathing in epinephrine gas, forced to live in freezing temperatures and made to live in the dark with only a shake light. she's definitely not thinking clearly

when people commit suicide, they arent going to be thinking straight, nobody in tetro was. watari just wanted hama to be able to go home and for her to just to die. she didnt want to go home to her family, yes, she cares about her siblings but she just wanted to be a single child in a different family and was never that close with them, she was going to kill herself but being able to get hama out alive to see his family again would make her happier than anything else

this is a lot of rambling and half of this is probably inaccurate but what in trying to say is watari wasnt clear headed during her plan/attempt and probably wasnt ever since the trial of the double feature and SHE ISNT EVIL AND I WILL DEFEND HER FOREVER
