Most of the things I had planned this summer didn’t end up happening, but there is something I hadn’t planned on that DID happen. And that thing is my 8th studio album, folklore. Surprise 🤗Tonight at midnight I’ll be releasing my entire brand new album of songs I’ve poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into. I wrote and recorded this music in isolation but got to collaborate with some musical heroes of mine; Aaron Dessner (who has co-written or produced 11 of the 16 songs), Bon Iver (who co-wrote and was kind enough to sing on one with me), William Bowery (who co-wrote two with me) and Jack Antonoff (who is basically musical family at this point). Engineered by Laura Sisk and Jon Low, mixed by Serban Ghenea & Jon Low. The album photos were shot by the amazing Beth Garrabrant. Before this year I probably would’ve overthought when to release this music at the ‘perfect’ time, but the times we’re living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed. My gut is telling me that if you make something you love, you should just put it out into the world. That’s the side of uncertainty I can get on board with. Love you guys so much ♥️

22 References? May 8th? A new Countdown? What is happening

On April 27th at exactly 5:08pm, Taylor posted a selfie w the caption "Not a lot going on at the moment" a reference to 22.

She's also been making lots of references to 22, from YNTCD music video (peace signs, sitting in lawn chairs, heart shaped glasses, etc) to interview peace signs and her speech for the Artist of the Decade award

Someone found out there is a website called notalotgoingonatthemoment.com, that was created at the same time the selfie was posted on April 27th, and with the same software as the countdown website for ME! last year. Also, it was created one year & one day after ME! was released.

originally, the website had this:

interesting, considering the references to the word KARMA in the Man MV. Also, Karma is all caps and bigger than the other words, just like the album names on the wall in The Man.

Also, it mentions snakes, heaven, karma, and 22, all of which were mentioned in previous songs.

now, the website has been updated! it now shows this:

A countdown that ends at midnight on Saturday, May 23rd, 2020! (This screenshot was taken at 2am on May 6th)

ALSO, at the bottom you can see a little word. When you zoom in, it reads:

"i am cruel. shedding my skin?"

when you click on I AM CRUEL, it leads to this tweet from Todrick:

normally, i would think the tweet would absolutely mean its fake, but....

if you change the time on your phone to May 23rd (when the countdown ends) it comes to a blank screen that just says KARMA really big. Click on the world KARMA, and there is an audio file.

the audio file is 13 seconds long, and seems to be a morse code message. according to multiple swifties, the message is "karma" and "shedding my skin"

this might all be fake, but its certainly possible. Has anyone found any references to 5.23 somewhere? On a calendar, or in a song? Something seems to be going on here...

I woke up today and immediately was like "Omg. Today's the day. It's April 26th."

First of all, it's a miracle I knew the day. In Quaratined I never know if its Saturday, Tuesday, or yesterday. Maybe it's tomorrow. Who knows. I was running on four hours of sleep and I hadn't even checked my phone. But I knew.

"4/26," I thought. "Something is happening today." But I could NOT figure out what it was. I got up and I checked my phone calendar. My wall calendar. All blank. I was exhausted and I could nottt for the life of me figure out what event I had going on today. But I was sure I had something to do.

So I got up, got dressed, did my makeup, and tried to figure out what I was supposed to do today. What was it? I couldn't go anywhere because of corona. Was something coming out today? Music maybe? Finally it hit me. ME!

I got dressed for the release of a song that came out a year ago.

This is what sleep deprivation does to Swifties. It was a wild day. 😂😂
