Listen ... I know we all love wife guy Percy, but I think the partner to that is under explored.

Vex will 1000% end the existence of anyone that threatens her husband. It will be fast. It will be efficient. Everyone will know it was her and she will not care.

OMG i agree about Vex so much!!! It frustrates me so much when i read comments on YouTube and see people outright hating her for how "greedy" she is and saying she's an awful person because of it.

I think she's a pretty accurate representation of a person who had to survive with little to no money and now has anxiety around it.

Honestly i have a beef with some people in YouTube comments because they tend to lash out at characters/players for not being perfect 24/7 and having flaws

What does everyone else get wrong about your favorite character?

Hmmmmmmmm. I am trying to think of something ppl always say about Percy, mostly because I surround myself in Percy centric circles. Anyone who says hes only mean or cold or uncaring is wrong, and is watching the show wrong. I will say I am not fond of the woobie characterisation. Not saying I don't indulge in it sometimes, I love a bit of whump, but he's not an uwu baby. He is an arsehole. He is a bit of a dick. He is snobby.

ALSO i saw a fic that called Vex a greed bitch who deserved to die, and Vex being greedy is considered as a defining characteristic in general in the fandom. No. Vex is greedy, but also fairly giving. It's more money anxiety and thriftiness, than pure greed, Vex bought those slave boys to free them. Other than the broom thing, I can't think of a time where it can be considered that Vex made a decision out of pure greed, it is not a regularly occurring characteristic for her to be greedy at the expense of others.

Which character who is commonly headcanoned as queer doesn't seem queer to you?

Grog only likes women for sureeeee. My straight ally king. But honestly I think the rest of VM are queer otherwise and it's fairly canon in some version sooo I don't have anything substantial.

Maybe Cassandra de Rolo, with a lesbian HC? But I more consider her demi-ace who falls in love with Kynan. There is little canon evidence for this other than I think it's cool and I like it.

Honestly, i haven't seen much undeserved demonization in stargate fandom, usually it's just jokes about war crimes people make about literally every character 😅

But i don't get people who hate Weir and think she was a bad leader. I haven't rewatched Atlantis for a while but from what i remember, she was an amazing leader an always tried very hard to make decisions that would be the best for the expedition.

Also if you have seen some hate on stargate characters that you think is undeserved, you're welcome to tell me, maybe i've just never seen these posts/opinions 👉👈

I don't know if this counts cause it doesn't seem serious but some people treat it like canon (or at least i think they do, i'm autistic so i'm not an expert on irony and/or sarcam)

The one about vulcans and their hands. Like when people think a handshake to a vulcan is like sex to a human. I just don't see it. Cause like if it was true, why would they shake hands with humans? I just don't like when people try to see sexual subtext in literally everything

💖: what's your biggest unpopular opinion about the series?

I have lots of opinions but i think the most unpopular one is that i think Noonien Soong wasn't a bad father. Yes, he made some mistakes but judging by his words and interactions with Lore and Data in "Brothers" it seems like he genuinely loved his children and cared about them. People think he's mean because he's old and grumpy but have you ever seen old people? A lot of them are grumpy and consider themselves too old to care what other people think.

And the biggest mistake people attribute to him wasn't even his fault. It was Juliana who suggested to leave Lore and Data behind. She admitted it. It's canon.

He wasn't the best father but he definitely wasn't the monster people think he is.

I just want to remind everyone of this extremely powerful scene from In Purgatory’s Shadow/By Inferno’s Light from season 5 of ds9.

“I'm sorry, but that's absolutely unacceptable. I'm under enough strain as it is, I can't have you quitting on me. Get a hold of yourself, Garak. After all, you haven't had one of these attacks in years. Yes, this is a tight enclosed space. Yes, there's not a lot of room to move. But a disciplined mind does not allow itself to be sidetracked by niggling psychological disorders like claustrophobia. Besides, this isn't like Tzenketh. The walls won't collapse in on you. Your friends are near by, there's plenty of air, so there's nothing to be concerned about. Focus on the job. You're the only person who can contact the runabout. People are depending on you. Ziyal is depending on you. You promised her you'd come back, and that young lady has had quite enough disappointments in her life without you adding to them, so control yourself. This is one of the most accurate depictions of a panic attack I’ve ever seen in a tv show. Andy Robinson went above and beyond here. He depicted it perfectly. That choking panic that rises in your throat and steals your breath, while your mind screams at you. The fear in his voice as he talks to try and ground himself.

The sheer strength and fear and dread of Garak, as he prepares to go back in, knowing what awaits him. That choking cloying panic, your mind and body betraying you…

I read somewhere that Andy Robinson is himself claustrophobic. I wonder how much of himself he poured out into these scenes.

It’s powerful because it’s real. People go through this every day of their lives. And seeing a scene like this, it reminds us we are not alone, that there are others who suffer like this too.
