What was your first reaction when you first discovered steek? And how long did it took you to start to like it??

When I first joined the SP fandom, I quickly came to love and relate to Stan. I remember watching the You're Getting Old and Assburgers episodes and since I was a writer, I immediately felt the need to write my own little version of it.

I wanted it to be a ship fic but I didn't want it to be Style because personally, I've never really shipped Style and only see them as friends. Plus, if it was based off those two episodes and it just didn't make sense in my mind for Kyle to be the main love interest if he was off spending all of his time with Cartman and pushing Stan away.

So I thought of the other characters. I had never been much of a Stendy shipper and at the time, I couldn't see Stan being with Kenny (although Stenny is one of my favorite ships now). I couldn't see Stan being with Cartman either. I might have thought of Butters but that didn't seem right either.

So I strayed away from the idea of Stan being with his canon love interest or any of the characters in his gang. That was when my mind led me to Tweek, who has always been my favorite character.

When I first came up with this idea, I searched both A03 and Tumblr to see if this ship was even a thing. It did have some content but not not a lot. It actually made me nervous to post the idea I had come up with because I knew that a lot of people weren't fond of Stan and Tweek ships that weren't Stendy/Style and Creek.

But I posted it anyway! I didn't like the first version I had posted so I thought my idea out some more and then made a new version that is without a doubt, the best thing I've ever written. I've also met so many people that also like Steek as well as some people who didn't like the ship but read my story anyway.

So it didn't really take me that long to like the ship and it didn't take long for it to become my OTP either!

I have a whole Google drive of some of my SP favorite fanfictions. I downloaded all of my favorite ones as well as a lot of other ones when A03 was down for a few days because of some shutdown. There was a chance it could have been deleted so I wanted to save some docs to read.

Unfortunately, I will probably never write an omegaverse fic. I don't really like reading them and also I'm not really good at writing supernatural fics. I typically tend to high school/college au's.

Sorry to disappoint, I know there are some steek omegaverse fics on A03 under the steek tag. I would check those out if I were. And also feel free to suggest any other ideas you may have for me. I typically don't say no to prompts, this just isn't something I'd write 😊
