Introduction to sheet metal working: Most sheet metal work is done on presses that require dies and punches or other form tools. In punching, a large force is applied to a thin sheet of metal to form or cut it into the desired shape. Stamping is a very economical manufacturing method. The various manufacturing methods for sheet metal can be divided into the following categories: (a) Cutting and Shearing - Here different tools are used to cut the sheet. Blanking, punching, perforating, grooving, etc. are different types of cutting operations. (b) Bending operation - sheet metal clamped about a straight axis. (c) Forming - Flange and tube forming are forming operations that form metal sheets. (d) Deep drawing operations - Cupping, deep drawing, deep drawing are all deep drawing operations in which the sheet metal has a cup or shell shape. (e) Reduce operation - catch-up operation. (f) Clamp - such as stamping operations where a large force is applied in a closed die. Journalism: Stamping is a method of cold working metal sheets and plates into the desired shape by applying a large force through a punching tool. The presses can be operated manually or electrically. (a) Manual presses: This is a manually operated small press. As the press arm rotates, the piston moves up or down and the stored energy is transferred as the sheet metal is worked on. Hand presses are used for small jobs. (b) Power presses: For large tasks and where high performance is required, manual presses are not suitable, power presses are used instead. Depending on the force used, there can be different types of power presses - motor-driven, pneumatic or hydraulic, etc. Or depending on the type of work to be done, such as shearing, embossing or punching, etc. (c) door: Sheet metal work on a die press requires dies and punches, depending on the type of work. Dies and punches for the production of discs. Dies and punches are made of a harder material than sheet metal. d) Hand tools:
