Hug and Nug
Introduction:
I suffer Greatly from chronic PTSD and Fibromyalgia. When I was a teenager, oh so long ago (but not so long I don’t remember), I ran away from home. It took about a year to figure out that dancing, hugging, and a healthy ingestion of cannabis eased the pain that this dis-ease I suffered. It is well known that Exercise(dancing), and Oxytocin (the so called Bliss Hormone related to hugging and social interaction

help greatly to reduce the debilitating effects of both PTSD and Fibromyalgia, so it was no wonder that all of us damaged dancers hugged every time we saw each other. We met at the club, we hugged, we laughed, we danced, and we burned one down every chance we could get.
We were the lost ones, the broken-hearted, bullied, betrayed, abused, and lonely. But we found each other in the music and the peace pipe and the hugs.
Hugs AND Drugs.
That’s what got us through. Some of us, myself included, were too damaged to manage to socially acclimate to be “productive members of society”, so we became Those who live on the fringe or under the wing of various   social welfare programs.
Today:
I need a hug and a nug. Not just today. Every day. I wake up crying more than I care to admit. I am still suffering and there are no dance clubs with the same kind of camaraderie I found when I was younger, so now, after thirty years, on the advice of several doctors, I begin DBT therapy combined with a stable, safe relationship, AND the medicinal use of cannabis.
When I smoke, or ingest cannabis, I can quiet myself to the point of “Wise Mind”, or “Mindfulness”  http://bit.ly/2iIHcqO . I can tune into my connection to the Earth and the intangible thing that many refer to as “God”, but I like to think of as Love. I don’t care that a lot of people might call this escapism, but meditation, and cannabis intake are quite similar in results of feeling. Cannabis is just faster, and if used correctly, a very good tool in practicing mindfulness, processing past trauma(s),  and relieving much of the psychological pain the dis-order of PTSD and the Physical pain of Fibromyalgia.
I think that was a fairly good introduction.
Hi, I’m Stella and I’m on drugs.
Now I’m off to get that hug...
xoxo
