Sounds like a plan.

More on dict editing, looking at all the de- and di- words. Minimal incorrect entries, 40 tops. Welp, Stuck in a hyper focus loop on my dictionary. Finding it hard to stay on anything for longer than 5 minutes. Taking a dedicated break to watch a video and edit my dict more, so far deleted all the K*L endings to K-L.
Final verdict, not too shabby, finished the JC for today, wrote my first speedtest in at least a week maybe two. Came in at half the usual initial errors so, thats fun. Usually its in the 100s and gets conked down to 60 when it gets rechecked, but the number to begin with was 54? Wild.
My bad focus day has still not ended, been bouncing around from thing to thing all night, now 3 am. But I did what I could! I still hit up my machine so I'm proud of that. I could have just slept.
Side note I really have to take my medication home to take on weekends. Im sure thats effecting something negatively.

Side note. Im sure I need better anti depressants. Have for years. I couldnt bring myself to do anything after I came home yesterday, slept till 8 pretty much. Took a good thirty minutes to drag myself out of bed to take care of my pets. Napped this morning for like 5 hours. Sleeping all day/exhaustion is one of the signs its getting worst. Oh to have a brain where when you want to do something, you do it. Bleh

Ah. Well, I finished editing all the words starting in RAOE- that should be RE-, took stupidly long, makes me wish I knew case cat better since it seems like it shouldve been they kinda of thing to easily edit...Oh well. I should make a list of other theory to check, I know DE/DAOE might be wrong.
Got a minimal amount of practice, stight stenoed a word list I hate, tried a 125 wpm dictation from a steno student success facebook group. God it was hard. sight stenoed the first few pages but my lack of theory hit in fast. Anxiety? Majority? Relaxation? I knew my -cution ending were weak but ack, -ty is fucked up as well I guess. Also dang, there as briefs for everything. Hate them lmao.
Working on a JC I've been on for the past half week, Ive made dictations to drill the harder words/briefs for each minute, 3/6 minutes done so far. I haven't gone back to previous minutes once I finish them in the moment, but I started hitting them up again. The words are still hard for me so, I should practice them more. I want to be able to do the whole take accurately so, I cant just give up on them.
A few of the words are my new imp- theory, no more IMP- only KB- so improper and impartial are one stroke but they have been giving me grief for about 3 months. Time to beat them down lol.
Debating the plan for tomorrow, QA or finish this JC? I kinda wanna do one of each a week but dang Im so slow. I know it takes about 17 minutes to speed build just one minute so, adss up lol. I think I'll finish the JC this week and see what's up next. If I have left over time I'll do an accuracy/ endurance take.

Are introductory posts ever really needed? Do all blogs have them? Who knows, I barely read any but I have liked peeking at stenography centric blogs in the past. I used to check plover ever day for updates, looking for blogs of past students, or just to see the journey of other people. It’s fun to see people succeed. Or just how people’s brains work, how someone could go to 225 in a little over 9 months, or be stuck at 160 for the better part of a year.
Anyways, that is to say, Hi, hello, I’m making a blog. I have the next year off school, I failed the base speed to get in, so thats on me.  But I wanna see what I can do without school based dictations and guides. See what DIY stuff I can rig up and what all the teaching programs on the open steno project are like. I’m sure they’ve come a long way since I last touched them!
Anyways I currently am testing at 120, but honestly I write at a solid 100. I backtracked, thank u covid 2020. Touched my machine maybe for a hour over about 3 months. It was rough. It’s still hard now to get back to it, I stayed away so long I’m now scared of fucking up lol. Nothing like getting slapped in the face with how much you suck. Wish I wasn’t completely ashamed of my depression and I could freely bitch about this to classmates or like, various steno groups I’m in but, those all got my face on em. That’s scarrrrrry.
So one year on my own, it’s not looking great, so I’m trying new things, shaking it up! There’s only so much robotic dictation about accidents and understanding evidence that one can take. I know my base theory is weak, always has been so I want to try something new to tighten it up.
I’ve been hitting up typeracer! It’s not the best for speedbuilding but damn, it’s sure pointing out my weak spots. I am super weak with some contradictions and just simple words that I thought i knew but in the heat of the moment I forget them. I think I miswrote again about 10 times before I got it right, GAIN? GAEN? GA*IN? Nope. It was GEN. whoops.
I have to admit, it is quite fun to be last in the race because something isn’t translating, look it up, or define it, and finish the race in first place. And by fun I mean completely ego stroking. I know I’m faster than the last time I was on there. It was I think November of 2019, and I was a solid 30 wpm on typeracer, 80wpm in steno,  now it’s anywhere from 40-70wpm on typeracer and 100 in steno.
Not sure how long is too long for a post but fuck it, this is for me! LOL. Skipped on all testing opportunity this week, I want to at least hit one next week, maybe two, hope to get my errors down to 40. I doubt I’m going to hit my goal of passing one 120 before the semester is over but hey, thats fine. Cant hope to pass per say. Just have to not fail. Thats all. Reframing it does wonders.
~Still editing dictionary, working on RE/RAOE cleaning up, started at 330, down to 280~
