For the love of all the gods, I've tried submitting this twice and the fucking thing didn't work.
Ok, my contribution to @spn20fest .
Week 1 - introduction.
Spn was my reintroduction to fandom joy. I started watching it Halloween 2019 and had got through all broadcast episodes 4.5 months later.
I'd had a significant bereavement 5 years earlier and had felt empty and cut off from my beloved DC superheroes. I couldn't enjoy them anymore. Spn got me excited about fictional things again. I became obsessed and was constantly thinking about these weirdo,compelling, desperate brothers. I felt more like me and I started making things inspired by the show. The constant threads of grief and loss and love helped me sort through my grief.
Many happy returns to Supernatural! My life is richer for it.
