Derek runs a flower shop and always on the first day of autumn, Stiles stops by to buy a bouquet for his mother’s grave. This year, Stiles doesn’t come in. Derek arranges the bouquet anyway and goes out to the cemetery only to find Stiles curled on the graves of both his parents. His dad dead in the line of duty just recent.

More Than a Dream [M] [2575] hazelNuts

Derek's soulmate dream always leaves him feeling lonely. Simply going about his day helps get rid of that feeling, so that's what he does. But even the most boring days can hold surprises.

Derek opens his eyes, blinking in the sunlight streaming through his windows. He smiles. Warmth fills him from head to toe. He turns around, reaching for the person next to him. The sheets are cold to the touch. The cold seeps into his fingers and spreads throughout his body, stifling the warmth and contentment he felt a moment ago. No one slept there. No one has slept there in a long time.

Distracted by a car turning onto their driveway, Derek didn’t notice Stiles sneaking up on him until he upended the cup of paint-water all over his head.

“Oops,” Stiles said, grinning smugly.

“That was not an ‘oops,’” Derek told him, stripping out of his soaked shirt and using it to mop at the mess in his hair.

Stiles does not like autumn, and today the season has given him every reason for his dislike.

The fox scampers towards him and now Derek can make out a scatter of black speckles dotted in its fur, most notably in a distinct pattern across its fluffy white cheeks. The same distinct pattern Derek has spent most of his Hufflepuff/Slytherin classes tracing with his eyes. Derek stares. Memories from his third-year Transfiguration lessons are coming back to him, about Animagi and identifying marks. But Stiles isn't an Animagus. He can’t be. Stiles is the class clown and there’s no way he would have been able to keep this quiet, not to mention to be an unregistered Animagus would result in time in Azkaban. Stiles may be smart-mouthed and headstrong but he’s not stupid. Is he?

Because if anyone would become an (illegal) Animagus to surprise the boy they liked, it would be Stiles Stilinski.

“You mean, there was a beautiful, brilliant, amber-eyed boy, and a half-starved, mangy-looking wolf,” a voice interrupted. “It looks like I made it just in time, huh?” Derek said with a conspiratorial smirk at Thomas. “Gotta make sure you tell it right.”

“Yeah, Daddy!” Thomas parroted. “Tell it right!”

“Okay, okay,” Stiles sighed, settling his arm across Thomas with his hand resting on his husband’s waist, thumb drawing an absent-minded little circle. “Once upon a time, there was a probably-going-to-grow-into-his-looks-just-fine young boy, and a very lonely wolf…”

A Tale Spun from Love and Void [T] [7230] Toxin || @ghost-of-erica-reyes

When Kate Argent kills most of his family, Derek makes a deal with a Nogitsune in order to avenge their deaths. In exchange for killing his first love, however, the Nogitsune demands Derek’s next one as payment, whenever Derek falls again. Never believing he’d make the mistake of opening his heart to anyone else, Derek takes the deal.

Fortunately, the only thing the Nogitsune likes more than pain is riddles, and when it finally comes for Stiles, it offers Derek a chance: if he can guess the Nogitsune’s name before the time runs out, Derek can keep the boy. The only problem is, Derek doesn’t even know Stiles’ actual name, and that soon becomes an issue in and of itself.

As if sensing the lie, the man’s nostrils flare. “Travelers don’t come out this far into the forest. There’s nothing for them to find out here, and they’re smart enough to know not to mess with the woods.” It sounds like an insult and a threat at the same time. “What are you really doing out here?”

Steeling himself, Stiles is tells the truth. "I'm looking for a dragon."

Or the one where Stiles is on a quest to slay a dragon for a princess, and Derek is the disgruntled dragon keeper who doesn't enjoy having to continuously stop stupid princes from hunting down his pets.

Its ringing pulled him from a very nice dream, which he’s already forgetting. ‘This better be good,’ he says by way of greeting. ‘I think I did something.’ ‘Mason?’ ‘I was studying those books Deaton gave me, but it was kinda late–‘ Shit, Stiles thinks, feeling where this going. ‘–so there might have been some mumbling, plus I talk in my sleep, and then my mom woke me up because it smelled like wet wood in my room, and–‘ ‘And then you saw you left the books open,’ Stiles groans. Deaton’s number one rule with magical books is to always put them away when you’re done. They can react to anything if left to fend for themselves, each other, a car driving past, sleep talk. ‘I’ll be there in thirty. Don’t touch anything.’

For @sterekwritingroom ’s spin-off event:

If I had the rights to Teen Wolf I would want to make a show that focuses on the Hale family pre-fire. Maybe even start a generation or two back exploring the role that the Hale family played in protecting Beacon Hills. Claudia Stilinski would also feature in this series and she would have grown up being trained to be the Hale Pack emissary. Claudia’s tragic death is what forced the Hale Pack to rely upon Allen Deaton as their emissary when they should have had someone from Claudia’s bloodline.

Each season of the show would explore a new generation of the Hale Pack and eventually it would catch up to the fire. The next season would open with Derek learning Stiles’ real name and finally understanding why he has always felt so connected to Stiles. Then Derek would kill an Alpha in the process of saving Stiles’ life and Stiles’ Spark would manifest again like it did the other time he worked with Derek Hale Pack Alpha and the rest of the show would follow Derek and Stiles working together to build a healthy pack (and ultimately getting together).

TW Spinoff: Kitsune

This idea hasn’t left my head since I first thought of it, so for @sterekwritingroom​‘s spinoff headcanon event I’d like to propose a show focusing on Noshiko Yukimura, starting in her young life nine hundred years ago and following her through various generations, various “lifetimes.”

Arden Cho would play Noshiko, and the surrounding cast would play different characters each season as time skips forward, appearing as reincarnations of their former selves that Noshiko finds herself tangled up with throughout many lifetimes.

Imagine Ken Yukimura crossing paths with Noshiko each season, each “lifetime,” sometimes falling for her and sometimes just missing her; the tragedy of losing characters but knowing they’ll, at least in some form, return the next season. Think about how interesting it would be to see the actors play new roles that are sort of the same person but also not, and only Noshiko and the audience remembering them as they were before. (Also: occasional appearance of former TW cast members, guest starring as their characters’ past selves??)

And moving on from the reincarnation idea… exploring kitsune mythology. Watching Noshiko grow in her powers, earn her tails. Exploring eastern mythology in general, and seeing how it ties in to the world of Teen Wolf.

Plus: period drama!! A new time period each season, spanning across the past nine hundred years. So much could be done with this concept.

This would be such an amazing spinoff and I want it.

Teen Wolf has ended. The rights to the franchise drop onto your lap. What do you decide to do with them? Would you make a spinoff with new characters? Follow some of the old characters into new situations? Reboot the series from scratch with your own spin on things?

spin-off headcanon for @sterekwritingroom!!!

i know, i know, it’s been done to death, but hear me out! i’m not thinking of an actual unit dedicated to these things, at least not at first.

i’m thinking Stiles the rookie agent getting put on cases that no one else wants to work on and slowly realizing just how many of them are so weird because they’re perpetrated by mythical creatures and people with magic.

Stiles getting laughed off by his partner when he tries to bring up the possibility that these things aren’t exactly normal. Stiles taking it upon himself to solve the crimes and stop the bad guys by himself, all without alerting his superiors or making anyone think he’s not mentally sound enough for active duty.

this gets more and more dangerous, more and more treacherous, as it goes on. maybe all the crimes are connected in some way (i’m picturing Stiles with a murder board in his apartment that spans three room and he keeps getting himself tangled up in all the red thread). maybe he starts seeing a conspiracy going on, hunters of Gerard’s ilk high up in the ranks with an initiative to eradicate supernatural creatures with the might of the oblivious US government behind them.

and maybe Stiles’ magic comes back into play. it was never dealt with in the show, just a throwaway scene that was never mentioned again, but the ability itself didn’t go away. it happens gradually and Stiles spends half a season increasingly bewildered by the strange and improbably things that happen around him, until he finally can’t deny it anymore: he is one of the people this initiative is targeting, and he has to learn how to both control and hide it.

and maybe, maybe, he runs into Derek. maybe it’s while he’s following a member of the initiative, and he finds out Derek is the next target on the list. and once Derek is filled in on what the fuck is going on, he can’t just let Stiles fight this battle alone, no way.

(or maybe it’s a crossover with @halekingsourwolf‘s SilverClaw. he’s tracking down some unsub or out of control creature, and it just so happens that Derek and Chris are on the trail too. they team up to fight the baddie of the week, but now that they’ve reconnected they can’t just forget about each other. they weave in and out of each other’s shows a few episodes a season, they mention each other and how they exchange information regularly, how they trade favors and help each other out.

maybe eventually they grow closer and closer until one of the shows ends. Stiles destroys the hunter initiative’s leaders, it collapses from within, but it destroys his FBI career at the same time, so what else would he do but join Derek and Chris at their agency? or Chris is wounded enough to put him out of work, or he finally decides to hang up his holster voluntarily, so Derek is at loose ends until Stiles calls, needing his help with something big, and Derek becomes an integral part of the fight.

either way they end up together, fighting side by side, having each other’s backs no matter what because they’ve been through far too much together to ever let each other go now.)

For @sterekwritingroom​‘s spinoff headcanon event: What would I do if I had the rights to Teen Wolf after the finale?

I’d love to say I’d do a reboot, starting from scratch and just doing the series my way. Unfortunately, I’d pretty much have to cast new actors in the roles because of aging, and no one else can be Stiles and Derek, so that’s out.

So what would I do with a spinoff?

SilverClaw. Also known as: Derek Hale and Chris Argent’s supernatural detective agency.

Because, think about it. Here are two men from vastly different backgrounds, with different skill sets and knowledge, but ultimately the same ideologies and the same deep, awful understanding of betrayal and loss. And who, most of all, have also formed a strong (grudging?) undeniable respect for one another. Their upbringings would lead them to approach each situation in a different way, allowing for conflict, compromise, and creative problem solving that would be so interesting to watch. And beneath the surface there would always be the old hatred between their families, between their core identities of wolf and hunter. And how beautiful would it be to see them looking past that week to week and protecting each other, no matter what?

The hunter with a code, and the predator who’s not a killer.

They’d help supernatural beings and humans plagued by them alike; there’d be background arcs of hunters or wolves trying to pull at their allegiance, pit them against each other. And we’d fret and they’d strain but ultimately they’d never break because they’ve grown into the bros to beat all bros and I just…

It would be Angel meets… well, Teen Wolf, and it would be absolutely epic.

I would need Stiles to join them in some context eventually, though I strangely like the idea, at the start, of him being an occasional guest star. Someone who floats in for a few episodes a season when his FBI investigations cross paths with SilverClaw’s cases, or they need him just because he’s Stiles. Maybe I just like torturing myself, but the thrill of his guest appearances would be epic, and his romantic tension with Derek –– up until the moment they finally get together before having to part ways again, playing things long distance until Stiles finally gets fed up with government bureaucracy and quits, joining them full time –– would be highlights of each season. And can you imagine the tug of pining when he’s gone, the sparks of chemistry and the will they won’t they get their shit together (but yeah spoiler alert they absolutely will because endgame).

But the week to week of Chris and Derek, hunter and wolf, Argent and Hale, would be such an amazing spinoff.
