i can explain any and all of these hcs /srs

okay but i have a rlly bad feeling for the way that the captain died, let me explain.

from what we can gather from the other ghosts (thomas and humphrey specifically) is that when you die by a wound of some kind your ghost will reflect that.

at first because of his uniform and title in the army you'd assume he died in battle or generally during the war but he has no indication of that whatsoever and doesn't react the same way thomas does around guns or mentions of bullets (and yk being shot would be the obvious assumption.)

he also died?? in button house/on the grounds of the house?? so there is a low chance his death was in any way battle related.

to add onto this there hasn't been any mentions by either him or other main/side characters of there ever being any major battle or complications at button house either. and surely some of the ghosts would remember a battle happening at the house?

there hasn't been any references to his death in any way (like robin and kitty) which means he either died of something small like illness or or something happened to him that was traumatic (which could mean a LOT of things that i won't get into for my own personal wellbeing<3)

also we kinda have to remember he was queer.... in 1940...

interpret my words however you please because i have so many theories that i am implying rn
