Loki opened his mouth to come up with a clever retort, but promptly shut it, agreeing, for once, with Tony. He wanted to at least have somewhere to stay, instead of on the streets. A god! Living on the streets! If the Warriors Three could see him now, he dreads what they would say.

So Loki opts for smiling at Tony and the man driving the car, but he doesn't think he sees.

Loki scratched his head in embarrassment "I don't think I'll be able to actually do any damage Stark. I haven't had a good rest in...well since the incident to be exact"

Loki rose from his seat and ran a hand through his hair as he went to walk out the back door that Tony had motioned towards.

"Stark. Can I ask something? Why are you doing this for you? I mean, I tried to destroy your world, I threw you the window and I am pretty much a serial killer!"

Loki looked down and blushed slightly "I, uh, I don't exactly have much magic at all. In fact, I have next to nothing. All I have is the magic keeping me looking like this, and that's about it really. Odin...he took it from me"

Loki cleared his throat "You don't need to worry. I won't turn you, or anyone else into a goat. I am basically powerless now" he said sadly.

Loki glared at Tony "It's not my fault I can't have my armour, believe me, I would do anything for it right now. Your Midgardian clothing doesn't seem...right... to me" Loki laughed

"If you insist, as long as you pay. I don't exactly have any money" and he smiled at Tony "And no, I don't have a place to stay, like I said, recognisable"

Loki frowned slightly when Tony rested his arms on the table, as it muffled the onetwothreefour,onetwothreefour routine of his tapping.

"I'll have you know Stark, I didn't try to take on the Hulk! I didn't actually attack.him at all!"

Loki swallowed nervously. Asgard was a touchy subject, but he spoke anyway, his voice shaking "Apparently I'm 'too much of a threat'" he said, making quotation marks with his fingers.

"So they banished me here, to learn about humanity and how to.be a better person"

"Oh it's not that I blame them, but I don't know why they think calling the police will do anything to me. It just gets quite...annoying...after a while" Loki looked up at Tony and laughed "Of course you would focus on the sexual favours, but I thought that you and your blonde assistant were...together?" Loki said, pretty sure that was the right word, some things in Midgard he understood, others he didn't.

The slang they used was one of them.

Loki also groaned at the use of "Reindeer Games" as his nickname, and he had a feeling Tony would use it a lot, so he decided not to mention his dislike for it.

"I don't have a coffee because I can't exactly walk up the counter and ask for one, because it seems most people here recognise me from the incident in New York..." he said "Is it how you feel? Being recognised everywhere?" Loki asked "Except for the fact people don't call the police when they see you" his voice trailed off.

"And why are you, Mr Tony Stark, billionaire, at a small little cafe like this? I'm sure you would have one in your tower, with a window view perhaps?" Loki chuckled a bit "And I don't believe this is your coffee shop either"

Loki looked up at the sound of the door being slammed open, he had quite liked the peace and quiet of the little shop, so different from everywhere else, and he wanted to know who it was that had caused the loud noise, breaking his thoughts.

As he looked at the person who had walked in the door, he suddenly decided he didn't want to know who it was anymore, and he didn't want to tell them to be quiet because that would not end well for him.

Tony Stark had walked in the door, and if the hair wasn't a big enough giveaway, the lump protruding from his chest certainly was.

Loki kept his head down, his eyes occassionally flicking upwards to look at Stark, and as Stark started to walk towards the dark corner, Loki swore in a voice just louder then a whisper.

"Why him?"

Stupid Thor, stupid Odin, stupid Heimdall and stupid "you're a danger to Asgardian society, you are banished to Midgard until we think you have redeemed yourself" speech. Stupid stupid stupid, and more importantly, stupid Loki, for thinking this would ever work, that he would ever get to go back.

He wondered if this is why all Midgardians go to coffee shops, to get out all their thoughts of self hatred and doubt and everything else.

He sat in the darker corner, where the table was cleaner and the light had flickered out, where no-one could see him, because no-one was allowed to. He wanted to be invisible. To blend in, hide away, become a chameleon until he was allowed to return to Asgard
