"That..." Cass pauses to actually think about it, "What would actual adhd meds do to a Spiral avatar? I genuinely have no idea, and I'm a little morbidly curious. I haven't actually been to a doctor since I Became, so I've got zero clue what would show up in any tests either way. I'm kinda curious if I'd be a medical anomaly. Probably would. I dunno how half this stuff works. I've just been 'yes and'-ing for the past few years."
"Aaaanyway, adrenaline from the jumpscare or from nearly dying? Both? Probably both."
“…right. It doesn’t seem like your dearest Karga will be coming anytime soon. Not in his own at least. And as much as that won’t change anything for me I must admit that I will feel… guilty about hurting those who were his friend who treated me well. So I have decided to help you to the best of my ability to get him Back.”
[The shepherdess sighs, before pulling out a piece of paper, and begins to draw a field onto it, with a map in the corner. It doesn’t make any sense]
“I know it’s not very helpful but it’s the best I can do to map the ever expanding plains that is Away for you. It’s a field of long grass, depending on the season you’re in it might have spring flowers, usually wildflowers of some sort. It’s always got hills for what seems like miles and miles ahead of you. Think the ideal countryside but stretch it out for as far as the eye can see. That’s what it’s like. Once you manage to get there, resort assured you’re going to find him. You may get lost but nobody can hide there. That’s all I can really say. Best of luck, Cass. For what it works, I hope you find what you need.” - the shepherdess @basra-of-the-crows
"O...kay?" Cass takes the map, confused. "I'll see what I can do."
Cass visits any wide open fields they can find in the real world, making sure to check off those places to start. Upon exhausting every real world field that they have the motivation to check, they decide to try something else.
Cass's Spiral Zone looks -to them at least- like when you clip out of a map and can see all of the outlines of buildings and npcs above you. To anyone else, it's a basic Spiral Zone. That's how they navigate to places. Therefore, when they spot what is essentially a blip in that map that looks like an out of place large field, they're a little more confident that this might be the place.
Cass keeps an eye out above them while taking a winding detour through the part of the Spiral Zone that starts to look like an underground utility tunnel. Looking for any people in this blip, they eventually spot a sole figure, "Oh, there we go. This is... probably right. And if it isn't, oh well."

"Oh. Filter in the way that being in the fog slows my brain down enough that I actually think about what I say instead of whatever train of thought I'm on. That kinda thing."
"But yeah! There's basically anything in this bad boy, you just have to find it, urban exploration style. I genuinely have no idea how big the Spiral Zone is. Could be literally anything in here, and I just haven't found it yet. Which... is raising a concern that a victim might have wandered some place even I don't know, and that thought's going to haunt me until I inevitably forget about it again. Which'll probably be an hour or two. Anyways-"
Now that that train of thought has paused, they seem genuinely amazed that Basra is capable of giggling in the first place.
“…right. It doesn’t seem like your dearest Karga will be coming anytime soon. Not in his own at least. Naomi is utterly side eyeing Cass for the first portion -the non singing- part of the video while Cass tries not to make awkward eye contact.
"It's... not a one-for-one?" Cass tries to point out. "From what you told me, we both had an idea what-"
"I didn't expect you to just die, though!"
It's... a bit tense and emotional in that room after that. It would have been an awkward silence if not for the video making everything worse.
"I don't... look, I don't remember the plan or the leadup to said plan, but I'm sorry. It was a shit idea, and we should've known better."
"...We really should've. I got... too comfortable and didn't want to press the issue. I assumed you... had it handled."
"Oh, I never have anything handled," Cass replies practically automatically.
"Yeah, I... I can tell."
"Rude."
"Should we... uh... rewind the video and do this over?"
"Nah, they wanted a blind reaction, and they're getting a blind reaction."

"Minimal injury, deathless speedrun," Cass says. That is quickly followed up by, "Wow, I forgot what it's like to not have a filter. Anyways. Gonna be a bit of a walk back. I'll try to shorten it when I can, but things don't always work like that. I- wait, that's a terrible idea with open wounds. I was gonna suggest we cut through the waterpark zone. Nevermind. I'll figure something out. ...I'm still so worried about your legs, though."

do you think the distortion has one of these bad boys in its hallways?
it's hot, it's sticky, it has a very uncomfortable layout, you have no idea where you are or how high up or how to get out and you can always see the place you want to go but don't know how to get there until you wind up lost there
#unreality#Yes actually!!#with enough effort I could uwu#I'm just not huge on the Vibe#I like more Abandoned Mall and Empty Pools kinds of stuff. except for the flower garden and snake pit#those are just my own personal touches#cass reblogs

Cass is surprised by the hug before returning the gesture. "I think it's been -like- ... a month-ish? A few weeks? ...Wait, a few weeks is technically a month, so I'll go with a month. I didn't actually -uh- consider the fact that you'd probably be hungry and thirsty after a month of not eating or drinking, so I didn't bring -like- food or water with me. Didn't think that many steps ahead."
"Last point. Last point. You are technically gushing blood. Well maybe not gushing, but you're a bit..." They gesture vaguely to Basra's wounds. "At least you didn't break a bone-" They pause, "...You didn't break a bone in the fall, right?"

"Hewwo," Cass says, giving them a thumbs up. "Yeah, it's me. Could've done a better rescue, but you were gone for -like- a really long time and I thought that a fast rescue would be better than a less painful one. I think. I guess. Maybe not. Give me -like- ten minutes and I'll steal find some!!
Hey hey Spiral avatars who have doors. Can you -like- modify the door? If someone puts a sign up on ur door, does it stay there or does it fall off if the door moves. What about stickers? I would test it myself, but I physically cannot.
Nope. Modifying/adding because I'm not done with this thought. If the answer is yes, what if someone theoretically just. Just boarded up the door with like. Nails in the doorframe, effectively making a makeshift, shitty Buried domain? Would that be fucked up or what.

"Ugh, Jesus Christ," Cass says, a little horrified.
They look around a little before deciding to take the easiest route out. They could put more effort into making a rescue that's safe, but that takes time and energy (and Naomi isn't around to prompt them to stop and actually think logically). Instead, Cass climbs up some of the pipes and wires to reach the top of this tunnel. They grab Basra by an ankle and yoink them down.
Now, from Basra's point of view, something grabs their leg, pulls them down, and they have the wind absolutely knocked out of them by the fall onto the concrete floor.
"Whoops. Yeah, probably could've thought that one through more. My bad."

"Because as they age, they wear out and can't handle the strain, like how lobsters get so big that molting is too exhausting, so they just die."
Naomi puts her head in her hands, disappointed, "Yeah, I can really tell when its the Spiral logic."
