Do you know what America’s veterans look like?

There are approximately 21.8 million veterans in the United States, according to the census. But it can be difficult sometimes to see the diversity of faces that make up such an imposing statistic. Here are a few things we do know: Out of 21.8 million veterans, approximately 1.3 million of them are living uninsured, according to the Urban Institute, while according to the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans, 60,000 veterans are currently homeless sleeping on our streets. 

A new photo series called The Soldier Art Project aims to change this, capturing the humans who inhabit the uniforms in powerful and often poignant portraits.

It just occurred to me that if there's another government shutdown at any point (as a result of the whole Republican congress, Democrat president thing) I won't get paid for the duration of it.

I mean, I'd get retro'd but still... that would really suck

Boyfriend requirements: must be fit, blue eyes. Dirty blonde or brown hair. Left handed. Can play instruments, rides horses, knows archery and how to use a sword. Has a fairy. And the triforce of courage. Is the hero of time.

I can't wait to have my civilian clothes back. Only three weeks to go, or should be. 

Problem is, almost all of the civvies I have in my personal bag are workout clothes. So while it IS going to be nice to be able to go run (and ride the seaside trail!) in my own clothes, it's going to be awkward when the only non-workout outfit I have is a pair of jeans and an FC Bayern Munich jersey.

It just occurred to me I also don't have any shoes that aren't running shoes or my issued boots. 

Guess I need to do some online clothes shopping before December!!!

I actually just logged on here for the first time in a couple of years. I'm not going to stick around for long probably because a) Doctor Who spoilers and b) I'm in the Army now and it keeps me rather busy, BUT
