Siblings

I squeeze her hand as we walk up the driveway. “Nervous?” Katie squeeze my hand. “A little” I give her a tight smile.

I take a deep breath and close my eyes for a few seconds. I feel my heart beating harder when she opens the door. The second the door opens i hear the buzzing of multiple people inside the house. Katies family is large. She has her mother and father and on top of that she has 10 siblings. The scary part is that I’ve only ever meet one of them.

We walk in and the second we get into the living room the voices stop. All eyes are on us. 24 eyes staring straight at me. I make an awkward wave and smile tight. “Hi”

I don’t think even a second passes before at least 20 questions is yelled out at the same time. But to my utter relief Katie holds up her hand “Hey! One at the time”. I take a hold of her arm gently.

It takes a long time to answer all the questions. It seams like they never stop. But somehow i had ended up bedside Katie and her little sister Lauryn. We had somehow made our rounds through all of the rapid fire questions. And id gotten many “your the famous Y/N”, “Haven’t seen her this happy in years” and “Welcome to the family Y/L/N”. The last one coming from her brother Gary.

When it was closing in on dinner time people start moving towards the kitchen. I wait back a little as Katie was in the bathroom. Lauryn comes back with a large plate and sit down beside me. “How’s fotball going?” She grins happily. “Fantastic! Just last week i scored almost 25 goals in training!” I smile at her. “That’s amazing!”

Her face goes from happy and grinning to worried and confused. “Whats going on?” My face turns bright red at her next question “Do you plan on having s*x with my sister?” All her other siblings in the room freeze. Their eyes slowly going towards me. “Uhhh… what did you just say?” I must have misunderstood her. She looks at me with an innocent smile. “I asked if you plan on having s*x with my sister?” I look around for help from someone. But everyone else immediately look down towards their plates.

I look down at her. “I… uhhh… yeah….” She gives me a grossed out face before turning serious. “Ewww…. Do you love her?” I become speechless for a few seconds at her shift before nodding. “Yeah… i love her very much. But don’t tell her just yet.” I smile and hold a finger in front of my lips as to hush her. Lauryn grins. “I promise!”

When Katie comes back no one dear to look her in the eyes. But the atmosphere is a little lighter after the earlier question.

“Thank you for the hospitality mr- and mrs- McCabe. Your house is very lovely.” I smile. I get a large hug from the both of them on the way out.

When we get into the car i let out a large breath of relief. “You good?” Katie takes my hand and interlock our fingers. “Yeah…”. She brings our hands up to her lips and kiss my hand. I let out a chuckle. “You know what Lauryn asked me?” She puts the car in reverse and smiles. “No… what?” I look at her. Contemplating if it was a good idea to tell her while she was driving. “She asked if i planned on having s*x with you.” I don’t have to wait long for a reaction. She immediately bursts out laughing. “Whoa… focus on the road!” I take a hold of the wheel. She tries to keep her bearing but i can see the grin on her face.

“Your kidding!” I shake my head. “Im so not! It was so embarrassing!” I let out a chuckle but can feel my cheeks turning red again.

Later that night we lay in bed. Katie taking the roll as the big spoon. Her arm around my waist gently moving across my stomach. Our legs intervened. I take her hand and kiss her knuckles. “Katie?” I whisper lowly. I feel her hum more than I hear it. I turn around in her hold and move my face into her neck. “I love you.” I mumble into her skin. I feel her hands squeeze me tighter. “I love you too” she kiss my forehead.

We fall asleep like that. In each other arms. With a new and stronger love.

Ow, that hurts

This wasn’t really how i had intended for the night to go. The plan had been solid. Firstly i would pick her up, then we would make our way to the rink. We would skate around for a few hours and then i was going to drive us to the nice restaurant downtown. We would have dinner and talk for hours. The night was planed down to the second. I had even planed how i would ‘accidentally’ kiss her cheek at the end of the night.

No, instead i am now sitting in a hospital bed, waiting for the nurse to come get me for a scan. “You ok?” I look over towards her. “Yeah, it doesn’t even hurt that much.” I lie through my teeth. I can clearly see on her face that she doesn’t believe me. But to my relief she doesn’t say anything.

It’s stupid really, how it all happened. One second i was out there on the ice. The next i was cradling my arm. Why am i so dumb. I’d wanted to show her a trick. I believed i could pull it off. But the next second i was falling backwards. The crack had been heard loud and clear. And the pain had been immediate.

I look up when the door opens. “Y/N Y/L/N. I am Doctor Olsen and I’m here to take you to the X-ray. Is this your girlfriend.” I blush furiously and look down. “N-” “Yeah”. My eyes snap to Alessia at the words. “Okey… lets get you looked at.” I cradle my arm and we walk out.

Three hours later we walk out of the hospital. I have both a sling and a large cast. I’m still I'm quite a bit of pain. “You don’t have to stay you know…” I stare down at the ground while walking. “If you think i trust you to drive a car when you can’t even stand on a pair of skates. You’re crazy.” She says it in such a playful yet serious way i almost collapse.

The drive back to my apartment is quiet. The quiet music and the soft humming of the air conditioning is the only sounds in the car. When we pull up to my apartment i look over at her with a smile. “Thank you for staying with me…. Did you really mean what you said at the hospital?” I quickly look away. I can’t stand it if she rejects it.

My heart almost stops when she doesn’t say anything for a few moments. That is until i feel her hand on my chin. I look back at her. My breath hitches and i shudder at the close proximity. My eyes flicker down to her lips. In the blink of an eye i feel her lips press against mine. I freeze for just a second before I kiss back. Her lips feel soft and i don’t want the moment to end.

Yeah… This wasn’t how i intended for the night to go.
