Deathbed
I’ve heard it said before that there are people who come into your life for only a season. This is bullshit philosophy. People give up to easily on relationships. The second it starts to hurt a little or feel a little bit like “work” or they have to actually forgive they cut ties and toss in the towel. Not me, if I call you “friend” I really mean to say “family” because I can only describe my love for you as being that of an older sibling who yes may love to bust your chops and press your buttons but when the rubber meets the road I’ll give double black eyes to anyone who takes issue with you. We don’t always get along and we don’t agree on much but I’d take a bullet for you! Hell, I’d take a bunch! I guess the point is to do your very best to fight it out but make it work. The worst feeling ever is being complete stranger with someone who used to know your darkest secrets.
Death Bed.
Intro:
Here’s a stick of dynamite I’ll light it for you Hold it closer to your empty head then I held you to my hallow heart I’ll run and I’ll duck for cover As I watch you fall apart I can’t believe I called you “brother”
Verse 1:
Last night I lit a cigarette for each and every one of my Ex best friends Woke up half dead with black lungs and shortness of breath
Pre Chorus 1:
The King of calling it quits A cruel taste of my own medicine
Chorus:
Can’t be friends Never gonna be enemies Complete strangers cursed But cursed with good memories We can’t go back To the way things used to be I’m done forever With you and me
Verse 2:
Today I wrote on a paper page titled it “My Life’s Mistakes” Ran out of lines so I wrote it in the space Today I wrote on a paper pager titled it “My Worst Mistake” Wrote “taking you back” on the top line then I threw it away
Pre Chorus 2:
The King of calling it quits The Queen of false promises Sins, vices and demons I love em like they’re my own kids
Bridge:
Now I can’t swim the distance between you and me And it’s time to put this to rest and bury this at sea

For the last ten days September 17th - 27th 2015. I have been living and working in New York City. Working for a food truck in Bellmore Long Island and living in Brooklyn Nyc. Day one: I got to town a day early to get myself set up at my buddies house in Brooklyn. That day we hung out and went to a street food festival in Little Italy. We eventually went back to his house and went to sleep. I woke up around 2:30 am and went for a walk to the bodega to get a beer. On my way there I met a 19 year old punk kid who wasn’t wearing anything but pants and an acoustic guitar. He walked with me we talked about touring and traveling he told me where I could get good meth I told him that I don’t fucx with amphetamines he said “that’s cause you’ve never tried them” I laughed pretty hard at the irony in that statement. I told him about loosing my best friend to heroine and he said he has known 7 people who have died from drugs this year. We both paid for our snacks and beverages and went our separate ways I hopped on the J train and rode to Manhattan to find a place to tag #resteasyvuks on a something. That’s how my night ended solo drunk spray painting my dead homies names up on a random wall in the hat. Dead or alive I’m still doing hoodrat shit with my friends.

This summer on #vanswarpedtour we were in Vegas and since we didn’t have enough money to gamble with decided to play a game called “what are odds”
Basically you dare someone to do something crazy and then they have to pick their odds 1-100. So say for instance the odds that Vinny would jump fully clothed into the fountain in front of the casino during the light show and “God Bless America” was 1/10 me and Vinny were playing the game so we counted to 3 then said the first number we think of off the tops of our heads.
This time I said 3 and Vinny said 7 since I was the one who made up the dare for Vinny to jump in and the numbers we said equalled 10 that meant that the dare reverses and that I HAD to jump in. So I did. But if we had said the same number at the same time HE would of had to jump in or take a piss in his pants to get out of the dare.

I have my fingers in a lot of different projects. One of them is named Francis we are a 5 piece pop punk band with heavy metal, hardcore and indie rock influences. While we were recoding our first ep #fivethousandreasonswhy we were staying at the studio in New Haven, CT we decided to go on a hike in Hartford what we experienced on that hike will forever be engrained into my mind. We left about an hour and half before sunset when we finally reached the top we found ourselves staring at what seamed to be some kind of old fort or lookout. It was amazing. You have to climb up through all of these stone stairs to get to the top. We stood at the top and watched as the sun finally set after taking a few pictures we started to make our way back down to the bottom of the mountain in total darkness. We walked about halfway down when we realized that we had lost our guitarist AJ. He walked up with us, he left the same time we did! But he wasn’t with us or behind us and whenever we shouted for him he didn’t answer. Eventually we made our way to the van to find Aj passed out on the roof stripped naked with burn marks on his left shoulder. We asked him what happened and he had ZERO recollection. He claims the last thing he remembers is coming down for the tower and starting out descent to the van. No alcohol or drugs were consumed this day as we were staying sober to record. Still to this day he claims to have no clue how he got SO far ahead of us without us realizing it or how he got burnt.

On our way to start #vanswarpedtour2015 this summer we did a two week run of #commonthief shows from the east to the west coast. When we reached Venice Beach for our first day off we had enough money for gas and food but not nearly enough for a hotel. Hotels are for rich kids anyway. So me and my guitarist Aj found a mattress that was being thrown out of some ritzy condo we sat it sideways on a skate board and pushed it a few blocks till we could hear the cashes of the ocean and found a nice cozy place to sleep between two dumpsters. We woke up to a fellow homeless man giving us blankets and pack of Camels. I love being on tour for reasons like this. I find basic life to be a blaring boredomfest. This post is dedicated to any other fellow touring musician who understands the importance of a great tour story.
