in the pilot episode of ninjago, sensei wu challenges kai to complete an obstacle course before wu finishes his tea. he then proceeds to pour liquid from a teakettle into a cup and drink it all immediately, giving it no time to steep (and we see later in the episode that the liquid from the teakettle is clear, so the tea was not pre-steeped in the kettle).
in season 5, sensei wu opens a tea shop and it fails. perhaps this was because, as the pilot episode shows us, he doesnt know how to make tea.
