You know, I’ve been off the meds for a year and I think I need them back because I handle life so much better when I have absolutely no feelings. I mean, does everyone get their feelings hurt so easy or is it just me?

I never read that book. Is it good? What’s next? 🐭
Oh it’s so good. I can say it’s one of my favorites.
We’re moving on to this next. I read it in college but I really enjoyed it so it’s a re-read (but a brand new copy so it’s technically a new book).

Today would have been this guy’s 76th birthday ♥️

Have you seen Good Omens 2? I’ve developed an embarrassing obsession with Buddy Holly since I did and now I want to go to Lubbock and see things. Is there a lot of things to see there for him?
First of all, there is nothing wrong with Buddy love. He’s a fucking legend and definitely worth the love.
As far as coming here to see things. I mean, there’s some things to see. The Buddy Holly Center, for one. They have a lot to see in there (even his glasses). It’s really a neat place. There’s his boyhood home. It’s not marked or anything and people live there but you can pass by it. Some murals in town have him on them. His old schools. The Center actually has a map they give out for all of those things which I recommend getting. There’s the plaza in town with a statue of him. And his gravesite, of course.
They definitely don’t overdo it here like in Memphis where you can’t go many places without being reminded of Elvis, you know? They have markers around town explaining things but it’s not all crazy. It’s actually pretty respectful. I was actually talking about that with someone once, how I was kind of surprised they don’t use him for tourism and stuff and I was told that his wife is partly to blame for that because she was kind of greedy (don’t know) but now that she sold his name/image/music rights she doesn’t have much of a say in anything anymore. (Like, I mean… the plaza in town has her name on it too, and that’s kinda meh but whatever).
Now, what I highly is the music studio where he recorded the good stuff over in Clovis, New Mexico (about 2 hours away) that is cool. You have to make an appointment a week out to see it, but if you’re a fan (even just of rock and roll history) it is definitely worth it. It’s kind of like Sun Studio (if you’ve ever been) where time just stopped. Very cool place.
All of this to say: It’ll take you a day to soak it all in, and Lubbock isn’t a bad place (I mean, I haven’t left here yet so that’s something I guess), so come on an visit. Wouldn’t be a wasted trip.

Unionize every workplace, take breaks, do the bare minimum, commit time theft, and stop breaking yourself for a job that would replace you within an hour of you dropping dead. If they want you to do a proper job, they can give you proper pay and benefits.

Did you ever make it to Memphis? It’s been a year or something according to your posts. Missed you. (You remember me, right?)
Of course I remember you! (Won’t lie. Took me a minute because you’re all incognito.)
Would you believe it if I told you I’m still in Lubbock? 🫥
(Never found my Buddy Holly, though, but that’s because when I do go out for socialization with friends, the cute ones are either taken or seem to be college frat boys and Bex ain’t got time for none of that foolishness.)

On September 5th, we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Freddie Mercury.

Play “Somebody to Love” loudly and sing along!
Cuddle all the cats!
That’s what he would want!

Lover of life, singer of songs.
