With the current ice stuff i see a lot of people boiling down their activism to just "well if you deport them then whos gonna mow ur lawn huh... check mate" and its like. Ok um while i do very much think everyone should be appreciative of the work that we do, this shouldn't be your only talking point because we deserve to be treated like people regardless of whether or not we are able to provide services for you. Though at the same time i suppose i understand why this point is brought up so much because i work in construction and pretty much none of these fancy multi million dollar homes would exist without us. I had heard contractors expressing concern over missing construction deadlines because workers are too afraid to show up to jobs in fear of being deported. Its all just very sad how people use us and abuse us and then want to throw us away when its all done.
