It just really hit me how short Campaign 3 is in-game compared to the other campaigns. Campaign 3 in-game takes place over about 4 months, add in a dussin or so days in the feywild where Nana Mori could bend time for them, that till means that they at most traveled together for just under 5 months. Even if you could EXU for Orym, Fearne and Dorian that started in the last month of year 842 and the end of Campaign 3 is only about 10 months later, so even they haven't traveled together for a year. Ashton and FCG also only met "a couple months" before the beginning of the campaign. The only ones who've known each other more than a year by the time the campaign ends are Laudna and Imogen.

This is a much shorter time than for either Vix Machina or the Mighty Nein. In Campaign 2 several of them have know each other for a while before the beginning of the campaign (but not for really long compared to c1 or laudna/imogen). But the campaign in itself takes place over the course of almost a full year, and the Uk'otoa reunion is about 6 months after that. So by the end (before they're brought back in c3) they've traveled with each other for 1 and a half years. More than double the time most characters in c3 have known each other. In Campaign 1 several of the characters grew up together, and by the time the recorded campaign starts they've already been traveling together for years (in the homegame), and the campaign itself takes place over several years including the one year time skip. Even the ones who've known each other the shortest amount of time by the end of Campaign 1 have known each other for several times longer than anyone in Bells Hells or Mighty Nein.

So it's really no wonder the dynamics of Campaign 3 feel so different, for many of them these are people who come to love each other before they even really know each other and that's a vastly different dynamic to the earlier two campaigns (that also had vastly different dynamics to each other). While I think this is part of what at times could be frustrating in c3 (partially due to the inherent nature of that kind of dynamic and partially some of the choices of how the cast played it), and part of why c3 never worked for some people, I also think its an incredibly interesting dynamic and looking back at the campaign having truly internalized that is very interesting.

Laudna goes from being relatively stable, to dying and being resurrected, to coming increasingly under Delilahs sway and in essence 'relapsing' before regaining control and finally trapping Delilah over the course of two months. Dorian looses his brother and most of his friends over the course of a few weeks. FCG goes from being alone, to finding friends, realizing he's the one who killed his old friends, finds faith in the changebringer, realizes he's truly alive and finally sacrifices himself for his friends over the course of roughly six months.

Its actually incredible how much happens to these characters in such a short time.
