started reading hannibal rising today and this ‘alpha’ (sigma? idk I don’t really pay attention when a man talks) men are crazy when they say that hannibal lecter would support trump…. babe that man would probably cook him

also he would be very vocal about being against the genocide happening right now!!!

so I have noticed in the hannibal fandom and in all the alana, bedelia, and freddie haters, how there’s a bigggg double standard when it comes to judging the behavior of women characters, cause why are u telling me you love will’s manipulation but bedelia’s (which is way less) you hate? also, why are people mad cause alana was mean to hannibal in prison??? THE MAN MANIPULATED HER, FEED HER PEOPLE, BETRAYED HER AND CONSTANTLY THREATENED TO KILL HER FAMILY, and don’t get me wrong, I love hannibal also, and will, my point is:

Why do (some) people in the hannibal fandom seem to love and enjoy and justify the behavior in men characters, but hate the same behavior in women characters? One of the points in the show is to see how diverse a human being can be, how they can transform and evolve and to question our ethics and morals, so what’s up with that?

HI!!! I’ve been missing a lot from here because of uni and work BUT on the plus side, I’ve been reading all of the red dragon - silence of the lambs - hannibal novels (rn i’m starting hannibal rising), and watching the original movies, which is something I wanted to do for a long time, because I wanted a better comprehension of the characters i already love, which is working very well, when i’m finished with the novels I would love to watch hannibal (nbc) again and see how my perception of the series changes, so when i’m done I will be sharing here! (very excited)

i know we talk about jealous hannibal sending the dragon after molly and “how’s the wife” of it all but that was really one of his most genius plans. he knew the way to ruin molly for will forever. he wasn’t just curious what would happen. the moment their house became a crime scene, she would be tainted forever, whether she survived or not.

he knows how will’s mind works and how he gets into the killer’s minds. he wont be able to stop himself from imagining killing her. it’s so simple and genius. she didn’t even have to die. and we see that it worked when will confesses it to bedelia

this!! I get the femenization and the bottom thing, but I always get curious about fics or posts that imply he wasn’t getting hannibal’s metaphors and tricky confessions! or that he was truly sick of it and the intellectualization of hannibal, like he was dumb when this guy was so fucking smart and could talk in metaphors for DAYS and the whole point was that he thrived on that! and the whole “evil” state of mind

hot take kind of but i really hate when people feminize will and call him a bottom and water him down to this innocent little guy that can do no wrong as if what he ended up being wasn’t always apart of him, sure he was manipulated by hannibal and pushed by him to give in to the darker parts of himself but those parts were always inside of him. idk. i feel like people that see him any other way must’ve had their eyes closed when they watched the show
