IN WHICH yn is hopelessly in love with mike wheeler, but he has his eyes on someone else…

just my luck, saw you looking at her.

yn sighed, resting their face in their hands and staring at the one and only michael wheeler. he was gorgeous, something that yn’s friends didn’t seem to notice.

“i can literally see your pupils turning into hearts right now,” robin commented. yn rolled their eyes with a smile, mumbling something along the lines of, “they should be.”

“you know you could just talk to him,” robin suggested, waving a piece of forked lettuce around.

“i could,” yn said, watching the raven-haired boy. they noticed that mike’s eyes were trained on the girl across from him, jane hopper. the mystery girl. the only girl that mike ever noticed. “but i won’t,” they smiled at robin sadly.

am i not enough?

do i even matter?

in another time, some would say that mike wheeler and yn ln had been friends. quite close, actually.

but then this brunette beauty showed up, and swept him off his feet. mike left yn in the dust, never looking back.

yn doubted that mike even remembered them.

why would he need to? he had jane now. yn didn’t matter.

yn stared at him every opportunity they got, and never even got so much as a glance from mike.

they knew they deserved better, but old habits die hard, and mike wheeler was the worst habit yn had.

those raven-colored curls that framed his freckled cheeks perfectly.

his doe-brown eyes that were full of wonder and imagination.

he was just so… pretty.

yn wondered if mike ever looked at them the way they looked at him. if mike knew yn’s favorite song by heart, or if he had a books worth of letters to them that remained unsent.

yn doubted it.
