Date Night Duel
Word Count: 539 Summary:“You know…” he murmured, voice softer now. “This is probably the best surprise anyone’s ever given me.” Pairing: Seonghwa X Reader

The moment Seonghwa stepped into the living room, his eyes widened in disbelief. The room had been completely transformed into a Star Wars battleground. Dim lighting, space-themed decorations, and the centerpiece of it all—two gleaming lightsabers resting on the coffee table.
“Surprise!” you grinned, holding up a Jedi robe. “We’re having a Star Wars date night!”
Seonghwa let out an incredulous laugh, stepping closer to examine the setup. “You seriously planned all this?” His fingers ghosted over the lightsaber hilts, awe flickering in his gaze.
“I seriously did.” You picked up the second lightsaber and ignited it, the bright glow illuminating your excited expression. “And you better believe we’re having a duel.”
That was all it took. Seonghwa’s competitive spark ignited, and he wasted no time grabbing the other saber and flicking it on. “Oh, you are so going down.”
The duel started slow—playful at first, with exaggerated stances and over-the-top twirls. But soon enough, it escalated into a fast-paced battle. Seonghwa moved with the grace and precision of someone who had secretly practiced for this moment his whole life. He smirked as he twirled his saber effortlessly. “You underestimate my power.”
“Don’t try it,” you shot back, grinning before lunging forward. The clash of your sabers filled the room as you both dodged, spun, and parried. Seonghwa’s laughter echoed as you nearly backed him into a corner, only for him to swiftly turn the tables and disarm you in one smooth motion.
He tapped the tip of his saber against your shoulder. “I win.”
You gasped in mock betrayal, clutching your chest as if he had truly struck you down. “Nooo, I was supposed to bring balance to the Force!”
Seonghwa chuckled, switching off his saber before kneeling beside you. “Maybe next time, Padawan.” He extended a hand to help you up, but instead of pulling you to your feet, he tugged you into a tight embrace.
You blinked up at him, surprised at the sudden shift in mood. His arms were warm around you, his heartbeat steady against your ear.
“You know…” he murmured, voice softer now. “This is probably the best surprise anyone’s ever given me.”
Your playful grin faltered into something more tender. “Really?”
He nodded, pulling back just enough to meet your eyes. There was a warmth in his expression that went beyond the thrill of lightsaber battles. “I know it’s just a fun, silly thing, but… Star Wars has meant a lot to me since I was a kid. And the fact that you did all this… it just—” He exhaled, a small, almost bashful smile tugging at his lips. “It means a lot. You mean a lot.”
Your heart swelled as you reached up to cup his cheek, thumb grazing over the slight pink dusting his skin. “I just wanted to make you happy.”
“You did,” he whispered, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. “More than you know.”
With a final squeeze, he pulled you back into his arms, content to stay there for as long as you'd let him. And just like that, your Star Wars date night became one of those memories you’d both treasure forever—one filled with laughter, light, and love.
