my thoughts on karua are as follows btw:

she was programmed to make takumi a good child soldier. this is obviously going to make her not the best person

she probably has some degree of sentience. sirei says she ‘went off script’ by chasing him. do you think she was trying to stop him from getting to takumi. do you think she knew.

her and takumi were in the most unhealthily codependent situationship known to man and it makes me feel bad for both of them

imagine knowing that your time is running out with someone and that soon enough it will all come to an end and you’ll disappear and then they fucking stand you up on your date

i keep seeing people arguing about whether or not karua was ‘toxic’ to takumi and this is insane because i feel like in 50% of flashbacks we see of them together takumi is an asshole in them. i always got the impression that what they were going for with takumi and karua’s relationship was a ‘you don’t appreciate what you have until it’s gone’ type of thing. and that takumi was a bit of a bitch in the past but grows and changes over the course of the game as he makes more friends and goes through the absolute worst traumas known to man…….. is this not what everyone else thought??

maybe you could argue they were both a little toxic somehow but trying to paint karua specifically as some toxic Bitch or whatever to make takumi sound more sad is kind of ridiculous and makes you sound ike a bit of a misogynist. especially if you’re doing this while also claiming takumi’s mom with like 2 lines of dialogue is an evil abuser. c’mon man can you focus on the characters that were ACTUALLY canonically abused instead of painting every woman in takumi’s life as abusive and horrible. i promise you if takumi was abused the game would’ve explored this in some way
