While I agree that this is vandalism and an informal form of protest, I believe that it isn't racially abusive because Islam isn't a race, it's a religion, and when you pay attention and see the kind of atrocities that are being performed in the name of this religion by these extremist groups it makes sense that somebody will want to speak out against them because it obviously upsets them.

as speculative as it is to say halal slaughter funds terrorism i believe there are other reasons to protest against the ritual slaughter of animals than this, one of the main reasons i would protest this is because of how it affects the quality of the meat, during the final moments of struggle when it is slaughtered, the animal already begins it's death cycle, releasing toxins into it's body and thereby having an effect on the meat's quality as opposed to the stun-killing technique used by most conventional abattoirs.

another reason i believe that halal slaughter methodologies should be segregated to it's own private sector is because i consider it to be animal cruelty (yes i know, killing an animal to eat it can be considered animal cruelty too, get off my back you pETA ass holes i'm comparing the two methods of slaughter and which one is more cruel)

when you conventionally slaughter an animal, it is done with a bolt-gun which fires a small metal spike into the animal's brain, stunning and killing it as a result, quick, not exactly painless but less painful than having a knife ran across your throat and being left to bleed out (halal ritual slaughter method), easier to do, cost-effective and better for the quality of the meat.

it's wet liberalism and a false sense of "equality" when you start pandering to the lowest common denominator in the populace more than the general public, treating the people like idiots and using smoke and mirrors to push something they may not want through parliament/ congress/ whatever other governmental body, rather than explaining it clearly to them, answering their questions truthfully and in a way that they can understand, which causes things like this to happen, when you start to treat one person better than the other and as such force an option onto another person who may not like it, then they will of course start doing things like this.

when condensed to it' most key points all im saying is the following:

1. islam isn't a race, it's a religion

2. halal prepared food should be marked clearly

3. halal slaughter damages the quality of the meat

4. halal slaughter is a cruel way to kill an animal

5. halal slaughter is inefficient

6. equality means that everybody gets to choose, not have 1 or the other here or there, that's not equality, it's bureaucracy and it's culturally oppressive.

and 7. you don't answer to the government, the government is supposed to answer to you and what you and all others around you want.

a government afraid of it's people is a democracy, a people afraid of it's government is tyranny.

So I work in the deli of a large supermarket chain, and I had a customer ask me today “so is your chicken halal?” I honestly didn’t know so offered to go check, to which the customer laughed and replied “oh no I was just curious because a lady told me it was just before.” Being very puzzled about this I asked who had told them, as I was the only female staff member around. The customer told me that a woman - another customer- had come up to them and explained to them that buying halal food, specifically the Steggles brand chicken which we stock, funds terrorism, specifically the group ISIS/ISIL. She had then told them to boycott the supermarket I work at, and had given them these stickers to place on any product they see labelled as Halal. Horrified, I called over the duty manager and told him to which he went and checked the halal section and meat sections where these stickers had also been placed. This one had been stuck to the front of the deli counter in front of our chicken products.

I can’t believe that someone would have the mentality to go into a SUPERMARKET and place these stickers around the place, literally preaching islamophobia inside a business to fellow customers. If she’d come up to me and tried to preach it, I would not have been able to hold my tongue I tell you what I would have told her racist asshole to leave the store and don’t come back, with some swear words in between. It’s disgusting, and I was upset by it my whole shift, however it just reminded me how racist australians can be to be honest.

If you see these stickers anywhere while you’re shopping, please remove them, and tell a staff member because sadly it apparently happens a lot and we know where they’ve probably stuck some more.
