JOHNDAVE is (or was) canon.

warning: this is really messy and unorganized as i wrote this during midnight.

a really shitty "essay" I guess. I don't know. now I'm not going crazy or anything. this is rather an ironic post. before you say "no shit Sherlock" or "no it wasn't" just let me RAMBLE for a second dude. I've seen a lot of people, whether joke or not, comment "I wish JOHNDAVE was canon" I feel you, though they indeed were canon in a subtle kinda unknowing (probably UNCERTAIN) way!!

if not, it was most likely one sided but ehh still canon honestly. when the comic began Dave's feelings for John were pretty obvious.

this is stupid evidence that could LEGIT mean nothing but hey its the small things right? Dave finds apple juice and his immediate thought is to tell JOHN. I'm not necessarily saying this means johndave is canon but it shows how close Dave and John are to the point Daves first thought is John and that he'll care about some bottle of apple juice. to add to that he also says IMMEDIATELY. not to mention the famous legendary line.

it was pretty damn obvious that Dave had some sort of feelings for John even if John might've thought of him as a "friend" however John couldve even had feelings for Dave as well? perhaps it was kinda just a feeling he played off and/or grew out of? for instance

johns birthday note. also Dave's birthday note but I'm too lazy to add that in lmfao. search up if you must.

both John and Dave clearly care deeply about each other and find each other cool no matter how much they joke around. they obviously have a close connection to each other and it honestly could have been romantic at the start of the comic. its not uncommon for teenagers to grow romantic feelings for someone they are close to but maybe not realize it. especially since they were 13. an important thing to remember is Homestuck rarely even specified relationships all that much meaning it could've been possible this was just something not EXPLICITLY stated by hussie but rather something hidden in plain sight.

this all goes back to Johndave was canon at the start of the comic till it developed to davekat and whoever the hell John likes now. (which im not THAT fond of but its FINE.)

meaning it is okay for me to be obsessed and ship Johndave because I'm not crazy. they were once a thing just not that important to hussie. even though it was presumably one sided. or not. either way johndave isn't non canon if you really think of it. canon means something confirmed or happened. now Johndave isn't all that confirmed but the subtle hints are there if you care to think deeper about the pair. really half of the ships, EXCLUDING any problematic ones because idgaf about those ships, are canon.

concluding this, Johndave was canon so haters don't tell me otherwise. we can all sleep in peace knowing johndave was canon.
