Yes in Shadow Generations game, there is Gerald's Robotnik journal in the entry #651, which would be pages 16-17. The draw implies that Maria helped or even designed Shadow's shoes.

Quick question Shadria fam;

I’ve always had it known that Maria helped design Shadow’s air shoes - but is there official canon for this? Was it a throwaway line or something found in supplemental martial? I’m pretty sure it’s from some sort of canon, but I can’t recall.

I watched the Brazilian fan film a time ago and I thought it was cute that they included this tidbit AND added that she helped develop his ring inhibitors! Our girl is a Robotnik, after all, she’s smart as heck
