❝Well if ya find someone, go for it. An' if ya need a wingman, you'll always have me.❞ Fidelio grinned ❝We've got plenty of time ta figure all that out. S'pecially once this is all done an' over. No matter what, ya can't get rid 'f me that easy. We're brothers for life after all.❞
To emphasize his point, the elder paripus extended his fist toward his brother in a familiar gesture for the pair.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Ya know...I never thought about it all that much. I guess with all the running around I didn't give it that much thought. Though it's not like we have to find someone right away right? We got each other. It was jus' somethin' that popped in me head like so I said it."
*Honestly, yes Basilio probably would be lost without Fidelio's help but he knew he couldn't rely on the older brother forever though it couldn't hurt just to do so for a bit longer.*

❝Maybe physically you are, but you'd still be lost without me.❞ Fidelio laughed in amusement. Though he knew Basilio could be fine without him, he didn't want to think about that. Neither of them needed to be alone.
❝Besides, it ain't like I'd just leave ya in the dust if I found someone. What about you though? Anyone catch your fancy little brother?❞
Tumblr media
"If ya ever do find someone you should go for it Del. I'm all grown now so you don't have to worry about me, I can handle meself."
*Bas meant that he didn't want to be a reason Fidelio didn't find happiness, after all he looked after him for a long time. Maybe during that time Del could have found someone to settle down with if he didn't have to deal with him.*

❝'Course ya'd say that. But it isn't like I've got the time at even consider that sort of thing. After all, I've still got ta look after you, ya big idiot.❞ The sentiment definitely wasn't lost on him, and without saying, it went both ways.
Tumblr media
"I was just messing with ya. Still, as long as you love the person you're with it don't matter if it's a bloke or a lady or anything. Just know I'll be here no matter what."

❝I never bloody said I agreed with that dumb thing!❞
Tumblr media
❝I s'pose I never really thought about it though. I don't really care what someone is.❞ But who would want to be with someone like him anyway?
Tumblr media
"Wait...does that mean Del like blokes? He didn't even tell his own brother."

❝Though you can be a little too much so sometimes, your kind nature is somethin' people tend ta like Bas.❞
Fidelio chuckled to himself. He likely would know by now if his brother favored one stall over others. He wasn't exactly good at keeping things from the elder paripus after all.
❝Just make sure you're comparin' prices when you do your shopping. Just because we aren't lackin' when it comes ta funds, doesn't mean we shouldn't still be frugal.❞
"Not a chance that's it Del. Me? Charisma? You're having a laugh."
*He couldn't help but grin, his teeth showing at Fidelio's jesting.*
"If I am a regular customer as some of them you'd know about it. It's not like I'd keep something that good all to meself."

❝Me brother an' me climbed the ladder, so we don't need any pity. Even as paripus, we are capable of more than most think.❞
Though he had little reason to feel defensive, Fidelio couldn't stand being looked down on, even if it wasn't intended. He strove to prove that anyone should have the chance for greater things if they just applied themself, and the brothers held that in spades.
Tumblr media
❝Ah, righ'. I'm Fidelio Magnus. Apart from Lord Louis, me brother Basilio is one of few I'll likely bother ta introduce ya to.❞ Fidelio began to walk back toward where the Charidus was docked. ❝ . . . so 'f there aren't other races in your world, what sort 'f magla ya got?❞
Tumblr media
"I see...you must have had it rough then."
*A world with no humans and yet it's just as revolting as if there were. It seemed his work wasn't over just yet. However it was clear that for now the male would have no other alternative but to accept this man's aid.
After all from the little he was already told it was clear not many would even give him the time of day should he ask someone else. Besides if he could gain favour with this Louis maybe things wouldn't be so bad after all.*
Tumblr media
"Thank you, I should at least tell you my name. After all it seems we'll be spending a bit more time together than we originally thought, it's Eito Aotsuki, nice to meet you."

❝You say that like there was any question.❞ Fidelio smirked toward his brother. The elder brother would never bring his brother along if he thought there was any chance it could fail.
While sure, risk was ever present, Fidelio wouldn't proceed without a fool proof plan. And fortunately, it seemed they would have plenty of time to figure it out.
"Yeah, you're right."
*Just hearing Fidelio say that made Basilio that much more confident in this plan of their's. The two of them were pretty much unstoppable when they worked together after all. However there was still a small voice of fear in his head. He didn't want to lose Fidelio again and should something happen he wasn't sure if he could hold himself back again.*

❝Never really took that much interest in yer life, so why would I know you couldn't do some shite like this?❞
Fidelio crossed his arms over his chest as he looked down toward . . . himself. This definitely was going to take getting used to. Having grown so used to the pain, and hiding it as Zorba was clearly doing now, the smallest detail wasn't lost on him.
❝Let's go get some of the herbs . . . that pain can be distractin' and I really don't want ta have to figure this out all on me own.❞ He sighed, catching Zorba's arm to lead him toward his and Bas' quarters in order to seek the remedy.
❝. . . Those bloody experiments still haunt us to this day, 'f only that could be fixed . . . ❞ He muttered, mostly to himself.
"Aye...dead bodies. Why bother with living ones when controlling their corpses is easier and more beneficial?"
*Zorba felt like he had to clarify that before they could stop this little tiff of their's. His speciality was reanimation after all, there was nothing to gain from trying to swap bodies willingly.
Also why did Fidelio bother telling him this? It wasn't like it would be necessary since it was clear both of them wanted to return to their own bodies. Shouldn't their priority be looking for the means to revert whatever caused this?
And as if on cue the agonising pain started, although the necromancer refused to admit it because it would be a moment of weakness. Zorba couldn't afford to show a moment of weakness otherwise he would be betraying his Lord.*

❝I . . . s'pose their healing is alright.❞ It did keep him alive after all, even if just enough to make it back to the mainland and seek out Rella's aid . . . Not that he really wanted to mention the fact he had gotten injured and required seeking out their medical help while he was there.
❝They're startin' ta open up more to outsiders visiting, so who knows. Maybe after all this craziness is over, you'll be able ta head over there and learn from 'em. S'pose it all depends on who does take over though.❞
Hazel still wasn't sure Louis was necessarily the best person to rule, his views were focused on an idea of equality, but left many behind. She didn't like the idea of just leaving people who needed help to die. Maybe he had more plans than just the surface level she's been hearing about that was better.
For better or worse, history likely would not be repeating itself no matter who obtained the throne.
She gave a shrug of her own, "I'm not sure. I am interested in learning more about their culture and medical practices, but it isn't feasible right now and I still have plenty I can learn from the tribes here on the mainland for the time being."

The boy's eyes widened in excitement. If his papa knew them as well, why hadn't he gotten to meet them yet? While plenty of stories were told of his uncle, and even a few of the songstress, Fidelio had left out the fact he knew the king and the rest of his entourage.
Even if the paripus knew it was in jest, he couldn't help the reddening of his cheeks at the mention of Lady Junah becoming a mother for Artemio. Even after all this time, feelings still welled deep down for the songstress, as hopeless as they were.
❝T-Tch.❞ He looked away, attempting to play off his fluster. ❝I was just posin' the question. She was a friend after all, so of course I'd want ta know how she is. Not sure why you'd insinuate she'd want ta be a ma for Arty . . .❞
"Yes, I know 'im, really well actually. Del's being modest, he knows them well enough as well. Not sure what he told you though so I'll leave it at tha'."
*Upon hearing Fidelio mention needing an advance notice Basilio promised to do so. However once they got to his house the Paripus could no longer guarantee it would be the case as the royal runner might find it had instantly shown up out of the blue and not with Basilio inside but the King himself.
That's just who he was, at least that's what he figured out during the year he spent in his service. Although there was one thing a brother could do in this scenario and that was have a little fun.*
"Still worried about Lady Junah? She might make a good Ma for 'im too but I dunno."

❝Fine . . . fine. But if anythin' happens, wake me up an' I can help.❞
Begrudgingly, the paripus laid down on the bed prepared for him. While pain was nothing new to him, this had left him feeling drained as well. More-so than he'd like to admit. So it should have been little surprise how easily sleep overtook him, his body begging for the chance to recharge itself.
If only he could wake up to find it had all simply been a dream . . . wouldn't that be nice. Though at the very least, when he awoke he would be out of that nightmare, and on the path to find Basilio, to help make up for the mistakes he made and to put a stop to what was going to come . . .
"Okay, rest for now though, don't push yourself," she answered and waited until after the door was closed before getting them moving and heading towards one of the main roads out of town.
"I'm good, you just get some rest," Hazel replied.
It wouldn't have been a good thing to do, but she was getting really tempted to put him to sleep with a little magic. She knew from studying the spell that it could take a while, at least an hour, to perform without causing any pain. Hazel wasn't sure exactly the extent it could cause, but she knew it probably wasn't comfortable at the minimum when rushing it.
She expected the pain would take some time to fade away and if could sleep it would likely be gone when he woke up.
Once out of the city and on the open road she decided to take some time to improve the enchantments she had originally placed on the pendant she had made him.

Fidelio's arms crossed over his chest, golden eyes staring across the table at the stranger as his tail flicked behind himself in the seat. While he wanted to question him, he was also in need of help, so the paripus would continue to bite his tongue for now.
Why was it always blue haired eldas?
❝Fidelio Magnus. I'm a paripus from Euchronia, and do ya really think I would still be around if I bloody knew how I got here? Last I can remember, I was on the stage at Montario Opera house and then I woke up in this place. An' I don't even know where here is.❞

"Two coffees then." He told the waiter, who nodded as he took their menus and left the two of them alone. Makoto studied the other carefully with his eyes, head slightly tilted once again. He could've spent the night staying quiet, but the questions in his mind begged him to speak up, so he did as he tapped his finger on the table half-rhythmically.
"So... my name's Makoto Yuki for starters. Where are you from, and how did you end up here?" He was direct, not sugarcoating anything at this time unless the other got hostile about it. Makoto could understand why, considering how guarded and suspicious he was of him when he found him.

❝You're the one who works with bodies, of course I'd think you were the one ta do this! An' don't you think it's more suspicious that it happened right after you left?❞ While the necromancer did tend to get under his skin, Fidelio realized that getting worked up wasn't going to help either of them. Especially Zorba while he inhabited his body.
❝Can we not bicker fer once?❞ He pinched the bridge of . . . his? nose, eyes closed as he attempted to calm himself. ❝Gettin' worked up isn't going to help either of us right now. If it wasn't you then we've got a bigger problem goin' on. And if you get too worked up while in my body you're going to regret it.❞ Getting too much emotion tended to incite a flair up of that painful magla after all . . .
If the necromancer hadn't been the one to do this, they would definitely have to figure out who did, and how to reverse it. Ideally they could handle this on their own, though perhaps they would need the help of one of those books in Louis' quarters . . .
❝While we try ta figure this out, let me give you some tips on bein' in my body. Keep a level head or your goin ta be in for a world of hurt. Bas 'n me got some herbs that'll help with that. An' I'll have ta teach you how to clean me ears . . . they'll be a pain if ya don't.❞
*This was a worst case scenario for him as well. Zorba hated to admit it but this body was covered in fur, something he couldn't stand all that much and he was in pain. Did Fidelio have to live like this all the time? Just when he was about to have a modicum of sympathy for the Paripus he started giving out to him in his own body.
That wiped out any attempt at even thinking to get to know the brothers or anyone at all. He was right, they were all fools who were unfit to serve at Lord Louis's side. So speaking with an unusual growl he replied to Fidelio's accusation.*
"You think I did this?! Insolent cur, even if I was involved you're in my body! You would have to be the one to undo it but to save us both time I'll be gracious and say even I don't know how this occured. As you are aware I was in my quarters when this happened. Why would I willingly trade solitude for the unwanted and unnecessary camaraderie?"
