This rp is in the process of re-invention so that there is Second Hope and then an outpatient centre, plus you can get in touch with old patients who may live in town so plots can be used that way etc.

Change to Second Hope

After much discussion between upper management and deciding how Second Hope should be run in the future, Will Schuester has finally been informed that it is to be closed down as a full time inpatient centre (max stay for patients around 6 weeks) and turned into an outpatient centre and renamed. Any current residents will be transferred to live in halfway houses and be asked to attend regular meetings with a therapist so they can adjust going back into the outside community or even back to their families.

OOC as admin - This is not a closure of the roleplay, just a new chapter after thinking about what to do for far too long. It will allow more opportunities for patients to make new connections out of recovery, new plots and new relapses...maybe.

Describe their addiction/problem: Blaine still struggles dealing with his brush with death when he was fifteen years old, so uses alcohol as a way to numb himself further from his PTSD

Bio: Blaine was the golden boy in his family even if his older brother became quite successful in his own career, he was the apple of his parents eyes and put everything they could into Blaine to ensure he had the best environment around him to succeed in life. Even if they didn’t always agree with what he pursued, he balanced out everything in his life as he loved music so much so he also took on sports so his father and him had something to talk about.

What he didn’t share with his parents was that he wasn’t really being himself, he didn’t realize it for a few years but when he was fourteen, he came out to his parents as bisexual, that was when he was treated different. His father never talked to him, especially if sports came up, it was as if he wasn’t allowed to. His mother always kept quiet whenever he was in the room, it was a complete 360 on what his life was like before. Blaine struggled being at home and did what he could to keep busy so he didn’t have to be at home for more than he should be.

Blaine didn’t come out to his friends, he wasn’t sure how they would react so he kept it to himself, until there was a Sadie Hawkins dance at his school, finally feeling some courage within himself, he asked a friend he met at soccer practice if he would go as they both confided in one another. So when they both turned up to the dance together, it stirred up a lot of feelings for their fellow class men including Blaine’s group of friends who ignored them both the short time they were there. Instead of suffering through more of their scrutiny, they called his friends dad to get picked up and whilst waiting outside. Blaine and his friend were attacked, with not only fists and kicks, but with crowbars.

Waking up a week later from a coma, Blaine finds out what happened to him and his friend who was still in a coma, Blaine is a mess and can hardly cope with what he has experienced and heard, what has made it worse is that his parents weren’t there for him. They came by the next day after receiving phone calls he was awake but Blaine heard the message loud and clear. He wasn’t wanted. So once he was released from hospital, Blaine had to get by on his own through his injuries physically and mentally, he found himself withdrawing from social interactions, not sleeping and being woken in screaming fits from nightmares from the attack. Blaine struggled for months before he finally stole a bottle of scotch from his fathers liquor cabinet and drank it in under thirty minutes, passing out drunk in his room and being completely numb to the world.

Fast forward four years and Blaine is still in the same place he was when he was fifteen, he is struggling with alcohol abuse and PTSD that he barely knows what day of the week it is because of lack of sleep or being drunk. Blaine knows he needs to get better but he just needs something to give him that push, so his brother checked him into rehab for a final effort.
