A quick sketch detailing how my Jay design’s hair works for future reference.

1: She dead, gone. Hair is brittle and ashy.

2: She probably overworked herself, no magic at all in her hair. It’s her normal hair colour. She can’t use her wings either.

3: Normal & Healthy! She’s doing well :} Her hair is all floaty and glowy.

4: A little mad or shocked, usually happens in small outbursts. Or when she uses her magic. Hair is hot to the touch.

5: SHES PISSED, hope you weren’t looking at her, because if you were, you’re blinded. Only happens when she overuses her magic. After this happens she probably ends up between 1-2.

Also, the tips of her hair can char at 3-2 when she is stressed, they get kind of crusty and ash falls off.

when I was a kid I wished I had nosebleeds. I had some friends who had them and I was like. that looks so fucking cool. you're just sitting there and suddenly you're covered in blood. it looks so dramatic. it looks so... and here my language failed me. at such a humble age I did not have the vocabulary to describe the sublime.
