i won’t even lie to you if they don’t make byler in season 5 (which I’m still on the fence about) it’s just straight up cruel to make Will in unrequited love with mike

why is the argument always “mike doesn’t know how to tell el he loves her because he never saw it from his parents growing up”
and never “mike intentionally suppresses his true self because he saw his parents support anti-gay politicians and proudly display their support on their front lawn”
mind you, we’ve seen karen wheeler show love to her children throughout the entire series. his dad is a deadbeat, but mike knows love from his mom.
meanwhile, we have physical evidence that being outwardly different would not be accepted under the wheeler roof
thanks reagan, you ruined our environment and my favorite ship

When S5 is out I want to know everything about Byler:
who knew they were canon, who didn't, who was surprised by it, who wasn't, how long have they known, how did that influence their acting (Finn & Noah especially)
I want to know EVERYTHING
GIVE ME ALL THE DEETS

Will Byers saying "we used to be best friends" to Mike Wheeler's "We're friends, We're friends!" has to be the smartest and quickest answer anybody could give in that situation cause i would've been a stuttering mess if i where him

it competely baffles me that some people would rather mike just be a straight guy and a bad friend rather than the absolute masterpiece he's actually written as.

watching stranger things youtubers talk about why byler has a slim to none chance of happening is such a trip. how can you be that obsessed with the show and not see ANY mike wheeler subtext WHATSOEVER. not to mention the general show theme. i--

Anyone think the choice of Mike calling pineapple on pizza in S4 "blasphemous" is intentional.
I remember reading a post on here likening the fact about it being a "fruit" on pizza and then cutting to Will could be a metaphor for being gay (cause being fruity is a phrase commonly associated with being gay).
And I just think the idea of Mike calling it "blasphemous" of all things (blasphemous meaning "sacrilegious against god") could be a nod towards his internalised homophobia. Its very likely that he grew up some kind of Christian and told being gay is a sin. Now he's having these new feelings and it's confusing him and causing him pain. Its very likely that during this inner conflict, the idea of god and this message of being gay being wrong and sinful has come across Mike's mind more than once.
I could be completely reading into this (I mean I call stuff blasphemous that is definitely not as a joke a lot, I think I'm hilarious) but I thought it was still and interesting word to use when they could've just used gross, disgusting etc that honestly still fits with the internalised homophobia viewpoint.

Mike and El’s Relationship gets worse the longer her hair gets

As El’s hair gets longer he likely finds it harder to project his feelings for Will onto Eleven.
In fact when her hair is at her longest Mike is unable to tell her that he loves her.

Only after El’s hair is shaved off (+a lot of encouragement from Will) is he able to tell her that he loves her. In the first season of the show, El is mistaken for a boy, and Hopper asks if it could’ve been Will.
If that’s not gay then idk what is ;-;

i finally got The Dustin Experiment today and i was thinking: we have books for all party members (including non-Party characters like Robin, Hopper and heck, Terry Ives) EXCEPT for Mike, Will and El.
okay, in my opinion, we've lived a lot of El's experiences with her, right? the lab, Kali, what Brenner used to make her do, the Henry chapter, her escape and her mom's life too. so maybe a novel on El isn't the Stranger Things writers top priority, right?
these novels use character's internal monologues as a base: what they're thinking, feeling, wanting, yada, yada. we'd get insight into Will and Mike's cheesy internal monologues (which i so desperately need. just LOOK at the season 4 scripts, man) which is why i ask the question:
Mike Wheeler, what are you hiding? 🤨
(trust us, we know. time to come out of the closet, Michael.)

Unreliable narrators are one hell of an idea. You can just write whatever, and if a reader points out "hey the way this scene happened should not be physically possible if it's done the way this character described it", you can just be like "yeah I don't trust that fucker either."
