Hey, I’m not sure. My partner is no longer on tumblr and running it alone last year was really stressful. I’m also not as active in the fandom as I was. But if i don’t do it I’ll make sure to hand it off to someone who will run it so it’ll happen either way!

The person standing in Steve’s doorway with a mildly concerned expression couldn’t be the repairman, despite how he’d introduced himself.

It’s nice relaxing in the mid-afternoon sun. They’re in crappy enough seats in the stadium that no one’s really looked at them too closely except for the little boy a few rows down that Steve waved at. Bucky’s warm against his side, eyes staring down at the diamond below, but he raises an eyebrow when he registers Steve is watching him.

“I know your mom told you it was impolite to stare,” Bucky teases, turning enough to smile. There are still shadows under his eyes, remnants of the too-frequent nightmares that continually wake him up at night, but it’s nice to see him somewhat happy.

Stucky Secret Santa

@raisedinthunder I am your stucky secret santa I open you enjoy your gift, Merry Late Christmas!!

 Christmas had finally arrived. It was the first Christmas Steve Rogers and his boyfriend Bucky would be spending together. Bucky woke up early that morning very eager to open his gifts and give his to Steve.

 “Stevie! Wake up it’s Christmas.” You never would have known Bucky was a former assassin based on how giddy he was. 

 “Bucky how old are you?” Steve asked as he groggily woke up.

“Come on! I want to see your face when you open my gifts, it took me a while to find the perfect ones.” Bucky tugged at his arm.              

��Alright, alright, I’m up.” Steve pushed the covers off as Bucky raced to where they set the little tree in their family room.                         

They were planning on spending the morning here and heading over to the Avenger’s tower for Christmas dinner. Little did Bucky know Steve had his own surprise waiting for him.  

 Steve went first to open his gift, he was taken back when he unwrapped the Christmas wrapping paper.

“Yankee tickets, Buck thank you.” Bucky smiled and kissed his boyfriend’s cheek

Bucky went next. “ A journal?” Bucky questioned.

“Yeah you told me you wanted to keep a journal if you remembered something, so that way you would always remember it.” 

“You do listen.” Bucky laughed. “Thank you.”

After they opened their presents they got ready to head over to the Tower. Steve was getting nervous, he had one more gift to give to Bucky once dinner rolled around.

Once they arrived Tony greeted them at the door. 

“Come on in.” Tony greeted. Natasha was in the kitchen with Bruce and Clint.

“Need any help?” Steve asked.

“I think we’ve got it.” Natasha replied.

While dinner was being made Steve and Bucky cuddled on the couch watching Christmas classic. 

An hour later they gathered around the table, Thor was in Asgard for the holidays as for the rest of the avengers they were present.

They dug in and as everyone was finishing up, Steve could feel his heart pounding in his chest, he felt the box in his pocket and was ready to give Bucky his present.

Steve cleared his throat, “Everyone, I have one more gift I want to give Bucky.” 

Steve stood up from his chair pushed it aside, “James Buchanan Barnes… you and I have been through a lot. I couldn’t think of a more perfect moment then Christmas to ask you this, will you marry me?” 

Bucky’s eyes began to tear. “Of course.” He kissed his boyfriend as the fellow avengers cheered.

Back at the apartment Steve and Bucky cuddled close to each other. Bucky couldn’t believe he was engaged. Steve couldn’t believe he was able to ask. But he did and he couldn’t have been happier.

“Best Christmas ever.” Bucky whispered

I actually ended up writing 50k of a totally platonic Bucky & Angie AU when I first tried to do this, which was even less what you’d asked for and also didn’t remotely fit the challenge guidelines. So. Who even knows anymore what my brain is trying to do. If you’re into that, I’ll work on that sometime in the New Year. :) (Well, even if you’re not, I will, but if you are, you can see when it goes up and feel special for having inadvertently inspired it.)

“What do ya mean ya can’t dance?” Bucky was surprised, almost appalled at Steve’s confession of his two left feet. Not that he believed him, of course. Bucky was an optimist when it came to dancing. It just took the right person and the right music, and everything would fall into place. Even if they were at Bucky’s house just hanging around, it would be easy to teach Steve a simple swing dance.

“As in, I’ve got no rhythm, and I’m barely tall enough to get a high-schooler, Buck.” Steve’s cheeks were blushing red; he shouldn’t have mentioned him. Bucky was probably going to laugh or taunt, and that was the last thing Steve needed. Pick on the skinny, naive asthmatic man. That’s what they all did. Hopefully, Bucky was different. He had to be.

“MERRY CHRISTMAS!!” Bucky jolted awake with a curse, staring squinty-eyed into the blue eyes of his Steve. Steve himself was grinning wildly, wearing a Santa hat and quite possibly the worst Christmas sweater he had ever seen.(There were lights. Who puts lights in a sweater??) He looked over at his alarm clock and groaned, flopping back down and curling onto his side. “It’s too early, Stevie…” He whined into his pillow. Steve just grinned wider, which he didn’t even know was possible. “But it’s Christmas! I wanted to give you your present before I went to work.” Bucky blinked blearily at him. “Only if you buy me coffee.”

An hour later, they were sitting at a table in the coffee shop/bakery that Steve worked in, Bucky sipping a quad shot gingerbread latte with eyes closed and a dreamy expression. “This is quite possibly what heaven tastes like.” He looked over at Steve, who had starting fidgeting as soon as they got there, and was getting worse by the moment. he leaned over to give Steve a chaste peck on the lips. “What’s the matter?” Steve took a deep breath. “You know I love you, right?” “Yes….I love you too.” Steve got out of his chair and rifled through his jacket before finding what he was looking for. “Bucky Barnes, you are quite possibly the best thing that has ever happened to me. And I have loved every minute I have spent with you, and I want to spend every minute left of my life with you at my side.” Bucky’s eyes were wide as saucers as he watched Steve get down to his knee in front of him. “Buck, I love you so much. Will you marry me?” Bucky sucked in his breath, then dove into Steve’s arms. “YES!” As Steve kissed him, the bakery erupted into applause, and Bucky blushes slightly as he remembered how very much in public they were. Then he smiled hugely into Steve’s mouth and he kissed him again. It didn’t matter, because he was marrying the love of his life. “I love you, jerk.” “I love you too, punk.”

Here it is: My present for borkysnow in the stuckysecretsanta gift exchange! I tried to draw something because I didn’t draw anything in ages, but hopefully you like it nevertheless. I sent you stucky christmas headcanons throughout december and one of them was Bucky and Steve baking Christmas cookies. And those delicious cookies need to be devoured together! I don’t know if those kind of cookies actually exist outside of Germany - they are called “Zimtsterne” (=cinnamon stars) and are usually made out of beaten egg whites, sugar powder and either hazelnuts or almonds - and cinnamon, obviously! :) I wish you a merry christmas!

Steve sighed. He knew she was right. He knew that after everything they had been through, everyone had noticed the depth of his feelings for Bucky. Everyone, except the concerned party. He seemed to be going on with his life, trying to piece it together, not really the old Bucky anymore, but definitely not the Winter Soldier. He had trouble dealing with his past. To Steve, it did not matter. He loved Bucky, he wanted to help him. But Bucky did not accept any help.
