online university is just *hasnāt been outside in three days* *absolute lack of spatial and temporal awareness* *tiktok break* *opens an email and forgets to respond* *pyjamas all day every day* *paces around room* *hopes your prof just thinks youāre in a different timezone when you submit an assignment at 4am* *unlimited tea* *bathroom breaks every hour* *no clear divide between free time and school* *looks out window longingly*

Another Tuesday, another study group session on Zoom! Seriously, I think all the stuff surrounding our current situation would have been so much harder for me to handle if I hadnāt met such lovely people right in the beginning of the programme. I am so thankful that they put up with me and my (sometimes) weird habits and everything, and even more that we are always there to support each other.Ā

āCogito ergo sumā - Descartes
Last night I studied until 10pm with a glass of wine. Canāt say wine helps much with studying, but oh well. My friend and I were both streaming in her discord server so that weād actually be productive, and it really helped.
So today Iām doing the same, I already finished a lesson plan, wrote some emails, and did laundry. Now Iām back to my history assignments again. Thereās so much information so I decided to underline important sentences with a pencil.
Do you mark or write in your study books?

in which i recommend books like the netflix algorithm
you wanted it, you got it, babes! caveat: this list is long (seriously, sorry about the length) and i canāt write blurbs for everything, but i highly recommend going and looking at anything that sounds interesting. some books will fall under multiple headings, so iām listing them twice. i am linking to their purchase pages on bookshop.org, because amazon sucks and bookshop helps support indie booksellers, but if your local indie bookstore offers delivery or curbside pickup, buy it there. and iām trying to keep this list confined to pretty recent titles, so even though a few older ones might slip in there, itās definitely centered on releases from the past few years. okay letās do this.

my constitutional law prof recommended actually tracking the hours we studied everyday not for the sake of productivity itself but just to be able to count the quality of our study time (without distractions). lately iāve been doing that on an app (clockify) and it actually makes me work in a more present and focuses way. itās really life-changing.
so far iāve been getting around 4 hours done a day but thatās still with distractions so iām trying to work on that. but itās been great for finals season.

October 21st, 2019
A photo from a while ago ācause weāre having grey gloomy weather every single day this October so itās impossible to take good photos. But on a slightly brighter note, uni experience has been very nice so far, I like the subjects that weāre studying, although i canāt say the same about our professors (some of them are either weird or really bad at explaining things). I took this photo when I was reviewing some german ācause iāve been pretty bad at studying languages recently(
