Ah, the gluttonous shu bajie or pigsy, depending on which translation of the original novel you read.
Pigsy is actually one of my favourite characters. He adds a lot to the story. Most of the plot lines actually start because of pigsy either in a good way or bad. And his and wukongs relationship as brothers is probably one of my favourite things.
The many interpretations I've seen of pigsy actually bring me a lot of joy, lol. Especially when they make him so pig like.
I took a lot of inspiration from the original novel like normal. Aswell as lego monkey kid, because, of course, it's basically what sent me down this rabbit hole.
Pigsy, I dressed less boldly in terms of colour, but I still wanted to tie him within the group, so I gave him adds of red.
You can very clearly tell a lot of my inspirations from lego monkey kid lol.
One thing I saw when looking for inspiration was that artists drew pigsy, very boar like, which I adored. Truthfully, I did NOT execute this the way I wanted to, lol. One thing I do like, tho is how I drew his legs

The wildly known and the wildly loved monkey king, sun wukong.
Wukong is a character that's had so many Interpretations throughout all forms of media from east to West (ha ha), and I remembered I could draw, so I wanted to draw my own interpretation of this mischievous monkey demon.
Taking inspirations from the original novel, of course. Aswell as, lego monkey kid, Black Myth: sun wukong, as well as other artists who I follow.
Like tripitaka, I always imagined him in bold colours due to the common character trait of him thinking he is the greatest gift to humanity lol. As well as the ever famous golden circlet crown with the tightening spell. I wanted to carry the gold through his design because in olden Eastern culture, gold was often worn by sovereigns and people of high status. It was a sacred colour. And he is the monkey KING so.

I've recently been reading Journey to the West (jttw), and I've seen many interpretations of tripitaka or Tang Xuanzang
And all the designs were really cool so I wanted to take a crack of it.
In my mind, he's always been dressed in bold colours due to the cassock he was given by the bodhisattva Guanyin, which in the novel is described to be so beautiful it brought tears to people. I also took inspiration from the tripitaka design from lego monkey kid (lmk)
Obviously, I do not have the artistic capability to portray that fully. Also, he's described having a staff as well, but I always liked the interpretations of him just having prayer beads instead.
