It was our book birthday on Tuesday for Let Me Finish! So Minh Lê and I read the story out loud to a bunch of super smart and sassy kids in the morning at Politics and Prose, then did it all again in the evening at the Takoma Park Library! If that weren’t wonderful enough, our awesome editor had brought us guinness stout cake!!!

Playtime!
Just heard Cas Holman talk about her various projects designing for open-ended play—so wonderful! I can’t wait for her rig-a-ma-jig to be available for personal use. I have always been a fan of designers who create opportunities for free play, from Bruno Munari and his La favola delle favole to Richard Maguire’s fantastic dot, circle, square animation, but her projects actually seem like something that will spread far, rather than just inspire a small group of book lovers and designers. She also introduced us to  “Anji Play” a new movement to bring back a perception of risk into the playground. So great!
