As someone who lives in a town where there’s only beatdown it’s a real downer, like were the only D-beat band in the area except Discharge. The real problem is that it’s boring. I care for one band (2x4 my beloved) and that’s literally it. Were practically separate scenes now anyway so I just say fuck em, I don’t fuck with Nike tracksuit guys, I fuck with people who can dress themselves.

i have nothing in common with jocks playing beatdown hardcore in sports clothes and nothing in common with the trend following tiktok kids that go to those shows. i still fuck with the music but there's few things that are as aggravating as having to be around "tough" hardcore people. their "hardcore" is barely hardcore at this point, these are just people playing groove metal with breakdowns thrown in. i am not saying the hardcore PUNK scene is perfect but at least i feel like i belong when i go to shows. last time i was at a "tough hardcore" show (for lack of a better word) it just felt like i was sticking out like a sore thumb. i felt no unity or belonging despite being in the same subculture. it's really sad that stuff has got like this!!!

I’m sick of watching my country slowly burn from the inside. I’m sick of people saying that trusting politicians will work. I’m sick of putting my faith in parties that never pull through or refuse to work outside of electoral politics. I’m sick of people being told the problem is the people who we should have solidarity with most. I’m sick of leftist organisations like the RCP thar sap up all our energy into selling newspapers and propagating dead ideologies.
