april seventh: spending most of my time studying at home and reminiscing on simpler times. although so many events I had been looking forward to were cancelled, I now have so much more time to edit my articles and pitch new ones to journals.

it’s great if this troubling time can be transformed into some modicum of productivity, but nobody should feel obligated to. take care of yourselves. my ask box is always open.

I am so afraid that I am going to waste so much of my life being sad when I should be living. And not just living, but living vibrantly and loudly. I want to read more, travel more, learn more and talk to more people without feeling held back by the confines of my body. I no longer want to feel like I am drowning, sinking, falling or being swallowed up whole by something monstrous. I want to feel alive, lovely and brilliant, even for a moment

9.01.20 // 📃 One of the scariest parts of creative writing, I find, is getting out that big red pen. Editing is hard and disheartening and mean, and it’s turned out to be one of my favourite things. This was from me editing my assessment piece. The final thing doesn’t read anything like what’s on that paper - it’s better. Because we never write anything perfectly first time.

And also, in honour of an honest 2020, I will tell you I took these photos today while finishing that assessment, hours away from my deadline at midnight. Due to procrastination, terrible mindset, bad time management I ended up just getting this in on time. In the studyblr community it’s easy to look at photos like above and see people working hard and make comparisons. Am I working hard? Yes, definitely. But I am by no means perfect. I hope to improve my work ethic this year and be honest about the fact that I’m really not always on top of things
