What would it take for each of the ro's to fake being sick?

Kieran: They would prefer not to bc they wall off their own vulnerabilities and appearing sick just makes them anxious like they’ve left themselves open for attack. So they’d only fake it if it played into some greater strategy—like if they needed someone to think them vulnerable or out of commission right now.

Nihm: Doesn’t like being disingenuous :( It makes them feel queasy. But they also don’t want people to worry about them so if that feeling outweighed their dislike for dishonesty, then they might fake being a bit sick to hide something more serious or to get out of a bad situation that is bringing too much attention on them so they can hide.

Lilith/Lucien: Not much if it gets them what they want. But they’d only really bother with it in certain less serious contexts. Like being a lil jealous pest and pretending to just have a very mild cold so mc dotes on them :3 (suck it, Rynn). Otherwise, they wouldn’t, especially not around people they don’t trust. They’ll hide when they’re actually sick like an animal hiding weakness.

Samira: She’d prefer not to bc she doesn’t want to make the people she cares about worry unnecessarily. But I suppose if she felt she really needed to do this as like a manipulative tactic and that the outcome would outweigh the guilt she’d feel in lying about it to the people she loves, then she’d fake it—like if mc simply won’t slow down and they need to bc they’re injured or something, then she’ll swallow her pride and feign illness so mc has to slow down and take it easier for her sake if not their own.

Aurynn: Would only do it if it would cover up a more serious condition or injury so he can explain away his behavior as just being a little under the weather. Wouldn’t do it otherwise bc he doesn’t want the attention being sick would bring—keep the healers away from him. 🙅‍♂️

If he wasn’t—which is most nights—then yeah sure he’s dtf 👍 Beats tossing and turning or night terrors. And maybe he’ll sleep better after.

How would the RO's deal with an MC that when sick/injured (Not life threatening but like moderate) refuses to stop working and rest to get better? :p

Kieran: So clearly this is habitual and mc either hasn’t been taught a lesson or hasn’t taken it to heart. So they’re going to have to take it upon themselves. They’ll corner mc into being obligated to accompany them to the infirmary—which shouldn’t be hard, mc will falter eventually at this pace and preferably Kieran will point it out in public so it’s harder to deny. And they suppose their tense/hostile relationship with mc comes quite in handy here while they personally attend to mc—is this uncomfortable for you? Good. Next time you’ll seek the help of an actual healer before Kieran notices bc trust them, they’re Very. Attentive. You won’t hide it from them for long.

Nihm: Tries to confront mc directly—they’re honest and to the point and they’ll be gentle but firm about it, but they’ll straight up tell you hey you should rest up and you’re not doing yourself or anyone any favors burning yourself out. If that doesn’t work then mc needs different motivation. They’ll either find someone mc will have to listen to or they’ll figure out what makes mc tick (time to shadow you and take notes like they’re studying bc they’re a good student) and reframe their request accordingly to be less focused on “you need to do this to help you” and more “I need you to do this to help me 🥺”

Lilith/Lucien: They’ll shoulder more of MCs workload to give them more leeway here and they’ll carve out spaces where they can help mc relax by like taking them out to dinner etc. When they do run into mc overworking themself, they’ll distract and redirect MCs attention to something else that will keep their mind occupied while giving them an opportunity to actually rest a bit, like getting mc to play chess with them or leading them through the gardens under the pretense that we’re gonna talk Business™️ but they end up chatting about nothing and everything and mc doesn’t even realize it.

Samira: Literally her pet peeve. She and mc are going to butt heads. She gets frustrated when she tells someone repeatedly to not be careless and they do it anyway bc then she is expected to clean up the mess. And now she has to worry unnecessarily over you. Stop being a stubborn patient bc she promises you she can and will be way more obstinate. This is a battle of wills and you have no idea who you just waged war with. Now get. Your ass. Back. In. Bed. 🫵

Aurynn: You get three strikes and if you don’t listen to him then he tattles on you to Samira. And he will taunt you with that too so when he does tell on you, you have no one to blame but yourself bc you were warned. 👍 Wouldn’t wanna be in your shoes rn. Good luck getting away with it now, fucker.

I see my mc at the height of 6'5 and height being one of the two things they decidedly like about themself (the second one is their hair, it was self indulgent).

Because Parim was the same height and they're desperate to have any opportunity to tie the memories of their siblings to themself.

They have Castors sword, and even tho they've hugely adapted his teachings into their own style, his influence slips through time to time.

They've always had a similar temperament with Aurora, but they've leaned into those traits more after losing her, especially publicly, and now they're probably more extreme in them than they should be tbh.

I have not yet decided what they could take on from Ember, and im making it their problem (they are very much aware they don't have anything relating to him on the same level yet and feel terrible about it). Maybe I'll let them get similar scars at some point. Getting striked during a fight and not being able to help the way they feel guiltily happy, because it only takes them a couple of moments to realize it might scar similar.

My little amalgamation of every person they've deeply cared for and lost, their siblings little shadow :3

I love that your mc is a little (or I guess big; they’re tall as shit just like their eldest brother) mosaic made up of pieces of everyone they’ve ever loved and lost and that they find ways whether intentionally or not of keeping their siblings alive through their own mannerisms etc 👍💔 I eat that up, all the stuff where Farah does something that reminds mc of the twins or Lady Safina moving in a way reflective of her son and daughter etc 👌👌Just all the little ways someone you love becomes a part of you, written in the very way you move or speak 💔🥹👍

Hearing about everyone’s MCs quirks they keep from their siblings is so sweet and sad and just cementing that I’ve absolutely got to include a little flashback scene of the sibs teaching mc to fight 💔💔 I keep thinking about it all the time :3

I really like doing descriptive prose—before this IF I’d only ever really written shorter flash stories for some classes but I focused mainly on lyrical prose in them and wanted to incorporate that into a larger story too—and so I’m happy that’s something people have seemed to enjoy in my writing :3 I spend a lot of time delving through thesauruses and just staring at stock images of things trying to figure out a way to describe it lol. (also still crazy that these characters live in heads other than mine woahg)

Not now but at some point you might find Aurynn will be a total puddle for mc too 👍 (as will the rest of the ROs honestly)

How would Lilith/Lucien react to an MC who's allergic to pollen? They give the MC flowers and the MC is like "I really appreciate the gesture, they're beautiful, thank you, and I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and say this wasn't a murder attempt (regardless of if they're poisonous or not), now if you'll excuse me, I'm going sneeze my lungs out somewhere in private"

Whoopsies. (do you want to punish them?) In the future, if they can remove the stamens like with lilies or use very tight blooms to reduce the pollen-count, then they’ll do that and supplement any bouquets with foliage so they’re as hypoallergenic as possible. (did they do good?? 🐕) If MC is super sensitive and can’t handle those either, then they’ll just make them artificial flowers out of other foliage/dried petals, paper, feathers etc. You’ll just find them folding little origami flowers in their rare spare moments so they can randomly whip them out for MC later.

Ooooh fuck, I'm so glad I didn't find this like, a couple years ago (it wasn't available a couple years ago I think, but still) while I was still on the deep end of grieving my older sister, it still hurts from time to time now, but much less, and it feels strangely nice to explore those feelings on a controlled environment, I broke alongside that teapot honestly, the amount of things I hoard from her now is incredible

Anyways, I love this IF, the character dynamics and the story, and I appreciate the detail of being able to choose if you're trans or cis. Personally the with MC I've been going with now, if anyone so much as raises her voice at her it's a gamble on whether she'll have a mental breakdown or claw someone's eyes out, or both, and I love her for it

I’m so sorry to hear about your sister—losing someone so close is so so difficult but I’m honored that you’ve been able to find a safe space in this story to explore some of those feelings now. I think that is a really lovely part of fiction as a whole—that you can use it to explore difficult feelings and scary situations in a controlled environment, and if this IF has helped you in any way with your own past hardships then I’m really truly glad. 🥹 Thank you so much for sharing that. Yeah—they went down like dominoes 😔😭 which I’m pretty sure if I remember right MC mentions feeling almost disappointed when they didn’t topple too. It was the anticipation that it was inevitable after their oldest siblings all were felled one after the other 💔 and it seemed almost unfair that they should not topple too, that the chain would end before it reached them (not that they wanted Nour or them to meet that same fate as well obviously, but you know—survivor’s guilt ;-;).

What petname(s) do the RO's like to be called and what do they like to call MC :3

This was a fun one to answer lol! All of them would have pet names for themselves and/or mc that would be too spoilery for their arcs/endgame to share but I tried to share some more innocuous ones they’d also use where I could. :3

Kieran: Not really the type to use pet names. Rather, they’d be more the type to go from—for example—always using someone’s last name and/or title to then using their first name and dropping honorifics. If they like you, they like using your name. You’d also be able to notice a difference in their perception of you based on the way they say your name.

They’ll find it either quietly endearing or exasperating (or both) depending on the nickname given to them—though I feel like I can’t exactly share any Kieran/mc-specific ones cuz they’d be too spoilery, but they’d be fine with other more generic ones as well like my love, my heart, etc. Basically as long as you qualify the pet name or even just their name with “my” that’s 👍👍👌👌❤️❤️❤️. Call them yours.

Nihm: They like to give mc light/sun-related nicknames like Sunshine/sunbeam etc bc that’s what mc reminds them of (yes, even your two-faced scary little shit of an mc). :3 As for themself, Bug 🐛 is cute for them but mc can also call them other bug names, especially moths like a Luna Moth (bc moths are drawn to the light, get it?🦋☀️👌👍 and sun/moon motifs :3). They will probably also make pet names for mc out of bad puns like “Hi, beetle-ful!” :D and then can’t ever actually use it regularly bc every time they do they spend a good five minutes laughing at their own awful joke. :P (they love puns)

Lilith/Lucien: All about pet names 👌👌 They give their friends nicknames all the time whether out of endearment or in banter. They love being given nicknames too. They’ll refer to mc as Love and as different flowers 🌸 🌹🌺 at different times depending on their meaning and what feeling they want most to express in that moment, like My Amaranth for instance, which represents undying devotion and eternal love. They’ll be happy to explain the meaning behind each flower nickname if asked. Whether the pet name mc uses is endearing or humiliating it’s great either way (praise and shame kink 👍)—but I feel like I can’t share anything super specific to them without being spoilery, but really any nickname mc wants to give them is great with them (like calling them “my pet.” Woof.) They won’t be picky.

Samira: She also isn’t really the type to use pet names (at least not as much right now), however, endgame at the end of her arc she’ll have some pet names for mc :3 but I can’t actually share them bc they’d be waaay too spoilery. As for herself, she’ll shoot down any embarrassing pet names (really sappy silly stuff like Sugarbee or along that vein), tho if mc is very mopey about it 🥺 she may be convinced to allow them one ☝️ but only in private. Use it in public and she’ll puff up like a cat and hiss “I told you not to call me that in public!” >:( If mc abuses any pet name privileges by being overly obnoxious about it like constantly drawling out “Daaaaaahling” etc shes going to get snappy to hide that she’s getting flustered.

Aurynn: Mostly only uses nicknames/pet names to annoy/tease people so if he can find one that would drive mc up a wall then he’ll use that when he wants to be irritating. And they’re mostly all dumb spur of the moment things, like calling MC “Green Bean” bc they eat green beans weird or “Beige” bc they pronounced it wrong once etc. And he’ll whip it out just to kill the mood bc annoying mc is one of his favorite things to do. 👍 As for himself, mc can war with him on the annoying nickname front if they wish or use fond terms of endearment (but he will be smug about it). Post relationship, any pet names involving like love/beloved etc or related to MCs feelings toward him will be enough to leave him wanting. :3

So is the primary stat more about what you come off as, while the secondary stat is more about what's going on in your brain and how genuine you are about it?

Essentially yeah! :) your main personality is MCs overall disposition while the secondary is more how MC handles their emotions/how forthcoming they are with information; it functions as a different layer to their personality, so while it does have an internal aspect you’ll still see it manifest in interactions with other characters as it has in certain choices already in the demo. :)
